Helicopter sensitivity
I can't get enough control over my chopper when i'm flying, i'll tilt down and then not be able to bring the nose back, leading to a really embarrassing death and loss of air asset. I tried turn the sensitivity all the way up but that barely makes a difference. My joystick doesn't work so that's not an option. I'm literally shoving my mouse to the end of my desk desperately trying to get the nose to rise and nothing happens. Then i look at the other pilot and he's turning on a dime and doing barrel rolls. I don't understand how that's possible, anyone offer any help?

Re: Helicopter sensitivity
sounds like some bug. probably check your controls if the mouse axis are assigned right.

Re: Helicopter sensitivity
If you were very high and dived like 90 degrees downward, You probably won't be able to get the nose up unless you have 5 KMs below you...
Or its a bug like the above post says.

I believe he means the huey.
Once you put the nose down 45 degrees below 150 alt you won't have enough time to regain control.

Re: Helicopter sensitivity
This happens in every helicopter I've piloted, so huey, havoc, apache, cobra, and those 2 smaller helicopters that the US and MEC have. And no, it's not a 90 degree dive, it's much sooner than that before i can't recover at low altitude. Like 30 degrees. By the way, what do those other 2 control setting do for helicopters? The axis settings. I tried messing with them too but i couldn't tell what they did.

It's all about practice, just fire up a local server with Muttrah and spend some time just flying around. You'll quickly pick it up as it is all about getting a proper feel for how much you can push things and where the limits are.

Try using your arrow keys instead of your mouse. I never learned to fly with my mouse even in vanilla. Today I consider myself a pro huey pilot using my arrow keys, if I try to use my mouse, I can't even get off the ground.

Re: Helicopter sensitivity
Interesting, I am very good with the mouse, I just got a joystick so I'm trying to get the hang of it
But I can guarantee you that if I tried it with my arrow keys it would be a very fast (and rough) landing.
Since you messed with the controls you should try resetting the defaults then try it out. When you aren't diving can you bring the nose up more easily?

Re: Helicopter sensitivity
I guess I could try arrow keys, but what do you use for the throttle? And whatshisname, yeah I've tried resetting to defaults and it doesn't seem to make a difference. And yes, when I have the helicopter level i can bring the nose up or down very quickly, but it usually results in me crashing.

Re: Helicopter sensitivity
If you use arrow keys to steer you could continue to use W+S for throttle.
You should also check your drivers for your mouse to make sure they're up to date. Outdated drivers manage to cause all sorts of issues. O.o

Re: Helicopter sensitivity
Okay arrow keys just don't work for me, i've been trying it for the last 10 helicopters and i just can't do the things i could with the mouse, even with the inability to turn as fast. Will try to update mouse drivers now.
EDIT: Hah this mouse is so old, they stopped updating the drivers a long time ago...

Re: Helicopter sensitivity
There's your problem, get a new mouse with adjustable DPI and you can change the sensitivity whenever you want.

Re: Helicopter sensitivity
Hmm, are you throttling up when trying to move the nose up?
