Red server name

Could someone explain the meaning of red colour in server's name in game servers' list? Some warning I presume or prohibition?

let me guess, you bought bf2 jsut because of pr.

it means taht you cant play on this server because you either dont have the map its running or you have a different game version tahn the server

I think it means that the server is running a different version of Battlefield 2 itself.

It being red means you cannot join for some reason.

It could be running a different version of BF2, a different version of the mod, a map you're missing...

I guess the server is running the Xmas snow maps marked by 0.957E, which is a manual download from here on the download page.

It is red because you do not have the map that the server is currently running. Most likely because you have not yet downloaded the new Holiday maps.

And the E's and D's and whatnot at the end are serverside patches. But E means that the server is most likely running the christmas map pack, which you'll find under the download section

^ This. They were red for me too when the xmas maps came out before I installed them. so in general, it means you dont have the map that the server runs at that time.
