Bugs and Features track (for the Community)

Post by Jorgee! »

Hey what about the idea of implementing a Bugs and Features track like JIRA?

You can see a demo at vBulletin 4 - vBulletin JIRA

It would be good for all the people in the community to see progress of PR, and to report bugs and other things, including comments.

It only costs US$10.... for 10 users haha, but i think it would be enough if having generalized accounts like Developer, Tester, etc.

I've seen plenty of progress from .7 to current .95. I don't think there really needs to be a chart recording bugs/progress. And mostly because of all the bugs I've witnessed, none of them have been game changing or serious. More like funny glitches.

I could donate the $10, but I don't really see the use...
Guys, when a new player comes, just answer his question and go on your merry way, instead of going berserk! It's THAT simple! :D

The good thing about it is the ROAD MAP:

vBulletin 4 - vBulletin JIRA

Then you can see how much left for a release

I kinda doubt the PR DEVs will ever use this... they stated that they want "no pressure" when making the game ie. no release dates (I'd say that consequently, no road maps - you've seen how the DEVs like to taunt with the community ;) )

Having any sort of indicator of progress/distance to "end" tends to skew how we, as people, work on a project.

With a "deadline", whether it be written, implied, or perceived, we'll often spend time getting things "done", so that we can move on to the next thing.
Without a "deadline", we'll often spend more time getting things done right, not just done.

I can completely understand why the DEVs do it this way, so that they can take it at their own paces, and I really don't think they'd ever want to use this.
