PB bans

Post by Total_Overkill »

A question to all PR players... as any one noticed a large amount of PB bans lately?
Until about a month ago, i'd only ever seen 1 pb ban, ever... but recently? my counts up to 16
Has anyone else been seeing this at all?

Haven't noticed but could be explained by new player influx created by Mod DB plugs, holidays and new snow maps?

If you mean the 'gamehook' sort of bans you see displayed in the top left; I think they are from all PB servers. Even from other mods and vanilla. Very unlikely to be in pr.

There has been an uptake, but I think that has more to do with new hack definitions and punkbuster updates than the influx of new players.

Also, there could be an influx of players who are PBBanned from other mods or normal bf2.

Who knows, it's doing its job though.
Players might be hardcoded, but that sure doesn't seem to stop anybody from trying.

The only winning move is not to play. Insurgency, that is.

I don't understand why anyone would use aimbots and such.

what are you talking about, there is no way we see PBB notes on a PR server if the ban happened on a totally other server with a different mod on it... thats rubbish

I'f I'm not totally mistaken the bans displayed can be from any server that is streaming to pbbans, not only bf2 or PR.

We have a thread on that guy in the SA section. ;)

I noticed yesterday that we had a guy complain to us that he couldn't join the CFI server. Banlist was clear, sure enough when I checked PBBANS, he had bans from PBBANS,GGC,GV. We tried to release the ban but of course it re-enforced it. And then we had 2 name-spoofers join us yesterday, apparently they were joining a lot of servers. They were name-spoofing a DEV, and the other was just acting to be a DEV.

But, yes, I was thinking yesterday that this is quite the influence of hackers.
