The only way to implement quieter sounds, would be to introduce kits like special ops who would carry less equipment, therefore create less noise. The only problem with that is, spec ops kits have already been in PR but were taken out as it was out of the scope of what PR is trying to achieve.

I think for regular infantry, the noise emitted should stay the same, maybe even increased when running. A few more clicks, clanks and tinkles I reckon.

I suppose upping ambient sounds would actually do the trick quite nicely, but those are going to be some crazy loud crickets...

For some reason, the tingling of gears makes the game feel more real and have more weight.
