Hey there,
I just reinstalled bf2 to play PR.
I patched to 1.41 easily (i double clicked the patch and it took about 60 seconds to actually launch and start patching)
Then I restarted my computer and tried to patch to 1.5, but nothing happended. I tried running it as admin (i have vista 32bit home edition). And everything else I can think of, to no avail tho.
The patch just will not even start running. I have tried double clicking and leaving it for 3 hours, nothing.
Is there any work around for this? I have tried reinstalling twice, once using revo uninstaller to get rid of the registry files. I have tried installing it in safe mode, still wont start.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, I took the time to search google and found nothing really useful. I contacted EA support and the best they could do for me was "try reinstalling the game".
Totally at a loss =(

Re: Patching to 1.5 help.
Try disabling the UAC, restart the computer & try again.
Guide:
1: Control Panel
2: Main User accounts page
3: Change security settings
4: untick the box & clock on, restart PC.
Same procedure to restart UAC again but ticking instead of unticking the box
Best of luck,
Michael

Re: Patching to 1.5 help.
Sorry I should have added more details;
I currently already had UAC disabled.
I have tried opening it and waiting patiently for it to start, waiting for as little as 3 minutes to as long as 3 hours and now overnight (last night) and still nothing.
Anyone have any ideas?
EDIT: I have also downloaded the patch from 3 sources so far, with the same results.

Re: Patching to 1.5 help.
If you don't see the installer window open after 10 minutes (UAC on) then you could have a corrupted download.
Re-download using a Torrent client ( I like Bit-Torrent).
Torrent downloads have auto error check/correction.
Good luck

Re: Patching to 1.5 help.
I will try using a torrent to download the patch. But as I said before in a reply (sorry not in the OP) that I have already gotten it from 3 sources so far.'[R-COM wrote:thepalerider;1515157']If you don't see the installer window open after 10 minutes (UAC on) then you could have a corrupted download.

I will post back after the torrent patch finishes, until then any other suggestions?

Re: Patching to 1.5 help.
Try with "alt-tabbing" to it - maybe it is somewhat hidden and not visible in the task bar.
Did you disable your security tools during installation?
An alternative to torrent clients (uTorrent) are download managers like FDM or GetRight.
You can even use them (DMs or torrent clients) to repair the possibly corrupted file by having them actually just try to "resume" the file.
