I am going off to college this year and am getting a macbook pro. Do the macbooks run PR ok in bootcamp? Thanks
Edit:
Out of curiosity did the macbook pro get updated within the past month or so? I do not remember ever seeing it with the NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M gpu.

Re: Macbook
I'm running it pretty well on bootcamp. Battery drains fast though.

Re: Macbook
I have a mac book pro that i bought Aug 2010 brand spankin new.
Model Name: MacBook Pro
Model Identifier: MacBookPro6,2
Processor Name: Intel Core i5
Processor Speed: 2.4 GHz
Number Of Processors: 1
Total Number Of Cores: 2
L2 Cache (per core): 256 KB
L3 Cache: 3 MB
Memory: 4 GB
Processor Interconnect Speed: 4.8 GT/s
I was a long time player of Pr back in the PR.8 days. and now i want to get back into it. and the gaming (windows XPSP2) rig has been neglected and i dont really feel that it is cost effective to even plug it in.
So long story short i would like to use my mac book for playing PR and other games for the PC but BF2 & PR would be paramount. which windows based operating system in your opinion or personal experience would you recommend?
I would have to buy it since the last operating system was.... questionable.

Re: Macbook
RED-BARON, either XP or Win7. XP is old but people claim to have less issues with gaming on it (I disagree.) Win7 is the most recent and has more advanced features, many that you probably won't actively notice but should still appreciate. The only downside to Win7 is having to run many programs as an administrator for them to work properly, but you get used to it quickly. Another big thing about Win7 is that it supports DX10 and 11, while XP only supports up to DX9. Personally I would go with Win7, but it mostly just depends on the style you like. For either one you want to make sure the version you're getting comes with the 64-bit version as well.

Re: Macbook
If you decide to go with XP you should first check if you can find drivers for your hardware. I believe support is being dropped so it will probably be easier to get good drivers for win7 when you are using brand new hardware.
So I suggest you go with Win7 64Bit ("Home Premium" suffices for me).
