Snipers kits, STOP FREAKING USING THEM NOOBZ!!

When I enter a game, no matter what the sniper kit is usually the first kit to be taken. And nobody takes the far more useful engineer kit when theres no commander to report enemy positions. And most of the time, its the noobs who think the 5s1p3rz kit is l33t. Then, they end up wasting assets. STOP TAKING THEM NOOOOOOOOOOBS!!

Nah, I squadlead most of the time. Sometimes I take the sniper kit if theres a commander in place and I don't feel like screaming at noobs over the headset.

Why do they need a commander to report positions? Snipers and SL can do that on their own.

Has a amazing round as Sniper being Sl of the CAS squad on Kashan. I wasnt after kills but being able to snipe the HAT guys in the bunkers, or the manned AA post`s. Then call in the CAS to take out the armour.

I did get chased down by a tank who had`nt realised I had two angles sat at 1000mtr above me. One click of the GTLD and a shout of weapons free danger close on SL over VOIP soon sorted out my little problem.

Snipers can be very useful, but alot of the time they are just used by kill chasing noobs who stay in one spot all round and wonder why they keep getting killed.

Heh there is quite a hatred of snipers here for sure!

To be fair though, its not exactly unfounded. Yes the kit is very useful and quite fun to use, but the majority of people in my experience just jump in a squad and think they are going to be super-useful with a sniper kit, then just die straight away.

thats what i do, but thats basicly what they want. they just need a squad of more then 2 people so they can get their kit and make their own 1 man locked squad.

i see no use for the sniper kit in PR. my last 3 encounters with a sniper, all on Gaza:

sniper fired too many shots from the 6 story construction site. hunted him down and found him without a spotter.

sniper firing too many shots from on top of another building. took an IDF scopped rifleman kit and nailed him in the head with the first shot.

caught a sniper on the same building 3 times, knifed him 3 times.

don't judge them all by the retards among them. To say it has no place is PR is a bit harsh as its a pretty fun aspect to PR. You rely on nobody but yourself and tension is nice.

When I create recon squad is always good to have sniper kit. You can harass an enemy FOB with it by taking out the guys on the TOW or HMGs or AA while reporting their position and at the same time saving your armored vehicles from being TOW pwned. You gotta know how to use it.

Or also, it can be used with a CROW humvee, the driver gets sniper kit, while the gunner gets engineer. So it becomes like Recon/BMD unit. I've tried it and it works great, which is very good for insurgencies. Only thing that you cant be while doing that is NOOB.

You really sound like a 12 year old guy that never tried sniping or just suck it. (also see; your comments on the bullet damage thread)

With this you want to make a point that they're wasting a kit, and at the same time you're saying that the sniper kit is useless, you're contradicting yourself dude<= make this more clear please so we can go a bit further.

Also, most people say; 'hurpa derp, sniping is fur noobs, no teamwork',etc.
Now I must say that a sniper is the one that can engage from a much greater distance without been seen, the sniper rifles have no tracer rounds. You can see much more, because you have an better scope and a GTLD wich is also helpful for lazing enemies,etc.
Whoever said sniper is anti-teamwork, is wrong.
A squadleader and his squad can build up thousands of FOBs and assets in stupid area's wich gives them thousands of points, wich is in my opinion, not useful in teamwork.
A sniper, can kill a whole squad, preventing them to attack this FOB-building squadleader and his fellow morons, or atleast, suppress them, again preventing them to engage.

You should really learn to create good arguments and statements, by saying 'herpa derpa you sniper noob' you sound, like one.

If you can't use the sniper rifle, then don't go whine about deleting/not using them.

Dont think hes nessesarily bashing on the kit itself, its great when used properly, taken it over the SL kit a few times when leading the Kiowa squad on karbala, ride around in a humvee, never entering the city nor getting more than 15 meters from the humvee, put in some good lases and even sniped myself a few insurgents.

Think hes bashing on the people who just grab it because its a sniper kit and go off 'sniping' more often than not dieing within a few minutes and usually losing a vehicle along the way depriving the team of transport it may need.

the sniper kit is useful, but it should be used like in real-life, as a recon element of the battlefield or to be call upon for long ranges where marksmen arn't useful, for example. As a SL on beriut i quickly swapped my kit for a sniper to take down a enemy H-AT and possibly spotter for mortors down from 750 ish meters away, then dropped (i also put it behind some crates to stop some sniper hungry idiot to take it). Maybe the sniper kit should have a longer re-spawn time.

OP youre just a newfag who thiks hes got most experience among the whole pr community but actually don have any idea of sniping.... or the game itself...

i understand people being angry about guys who take HAT on insurgency (though, not anymore now in 0.95) but i dont understand WHY some people complaining about others taking sniper kits. if they think they would be wasted then they should take them themselves and be a better sniper squad

Ive played PR for a long while and have seen the sniper kit used in a useful manner such a small number of times i can probably count on one hand. It makes me angry looking at a sniper ingame.

My last encounter with a sniper included him taking a logistic truck for his personal transport. When dying, soloing an AAV to get his sniper kit back.

I just hate that damn kit with such an unbelievable passion and insta kit anyone who requests it in my squad. i know not all snipers are like it, but in my experienced 99% of snipers should be banned from PR for ever.

I don't like how people think the sniper kit is useless and doesn't benefit teamwork at all. It's long range fire support, and thins out enemies. It also pins down units, forcing them to stop and heal. If people don't use it right, oh well. You can't take away HAT kits because some people aren't as good with it as others, or grenades because people can't toss them in windows properly ;P
