After a recent mishap I had to reinstall BF2, I got to 1.41 successfully. Then tackled 1.5.
Its been about 27 attempts now, 2 different 1.5 downloads, more than a week. My problem is that when I select the patch by pressing on the icon, it shows up in my processes but stays at 56 to 60k and does not move. I have had a process for the 1.5 patch running for more than 7 hours at times without budging. I am running Vista 32, and I tried running it as Administrator, with compatibility for XP SP2, and without either, no success.

Re: BF2 Patch 1.5 installer issue.
Rather than create a new thread thought it would be best to revive this one. I currently have the same problem, recently installed Win7 and I can't run the 1.5 patch. Two different downloads and it simply won't open when I double click it. I've restarted, disabled UAC, running in compatibility mode for XP and it still won't work. Pretty much tried everything under the sun yet it won't launch no matter what I do.
Any ideas?

Re: BF2 Patch 1.5 installer issue.
Tried deactivating all your AV and/or security suite, yet?
Disabling UAC is definitly a good idea when tring to install BF2 and PR.
Double check that you have downloaded the real 1.5 and not one of the old Beta versions which are still around. Also double check that 1.41 is installed (again, no beta, and NOT 1.40!).
Make sure your installer is not corrupted (use MD5 check sum).
Make sure you have enough disk space available.
