Mumble Problem - Cant connect to PR server
I have been unable to connect to the PR mumble server for a couple months. I can connect just fine to other servers using vanilla mumble. When I try to connect to the PR server, it gives me this text:
[3:54:27 PM] Connected to server 217.146.93.46.
[3:54:57 PM] Server connection failed: The remote host closed the connection.
[3:55:07 PM] Reconnecting.
[3:55:07 PM] Connected to server 217.146.93.46.
[3:55:31 PM] Server connection failed: The remote host closed the connection.
...and so on
The strange thing is that when I take my laptop to another location, I can connect just fine. My ISP gives me a static IP, which leads me to think that I might be banned, as I have exhausted all other probable causes for this. I have no idea why I would be banned. Is there anyway to check? And if I am banned, is there anyway to appeal it?
My OS is Windows 7, and yes, I have ran mumble as an administer, with compatibility mode, turned off UAC, etc.
Thanks,
arma

Check your router for possible denial of service (DOS) attack detections. Your router might have black listed the mumble server - deactivate some security features for testing purposes, check the logs.
Got a PROBLEM? Check this: PR:BF2 Installation Guide

I tried deactivating some security features and it still didn't work. I dont think that could be the case because when I directly connect my desktop without the router, I still cant connect to mumble.[R-COM]SnipingCoward wrote:Check your router for possible denial of service (DOS) attack detections. Make sure you registered PRMumble at the windows firewall (or any other personal firewall) to grant access to the internet.
Use "cmd.exe" and "ping 217.146.93.46", see if you are getting any ping at all.
In mumble configuration at "Network" tab try with switching between "use TCP mode" (mine is not ticked).

Mumble is allowed through windows firewall, though I have been leaving it off.[R-COM]SnipingCoward wrote:Make sure you registered PRMumble at the windows firewall (or any other personal firewall) to grant access to the internet.

I am getting a ping from the ip address.
I have tried both options for TCP mode, neither worked.
Like I said, when I take my laptop to another location with internet, I can connect just fine.

Re: Mumble Problem - Cant connect to PR server
What is happening is that your connection to the mumble server times out.
The messages you get are similar to when I disconnect my router from the internet after I connected to the mumble server successfully.
Since you are saying that by passing your router does not solve the problem and your PC is able to connect to mumble when using a different internet access I would conclude that the issue resides either at the modem (possibly defective?) or your ISP (blocking the port?).

I don't think my isp is blocking the port. They told me they don't block any ports except the usual ports that present security issues.[R-COM]SnipingCoward wrote:What is happening is that your connection to the mumble server times out.

It could be my modem. I have a wireless ISP, so my modem is a Motorola radio. However, since I can connect to other public servers using vanilla mumble, shouldn't I be able to connect to the PR server?
