I see through the ground, because there is none.

Post by Josh7331 »

I have a bit of a problem when AA is enabled, I don't get the ground textures at all. The result is being able to see through the ground for this is no ground. If I do however look into the ACOG of my weapon I see a ground same goes for a scope, not binocs though. This problem only occurs with AA.

Here are the solutions I've tried, all have failed.
-Reinstalling PR, GPU drivers, BF2,
-Defaulting the CCC
-Deleting the cache of PR
-Turning on "use applications settings" for CCC
-Turning off "use application settings" for CCC and trying to force AA
-Messing around with the resolutions in and out of game
-Turning textures and other various settings to low and high
-overclocking my GPU
-underclocking my GPU
-fresh install of windows 7
-running in all compatibility modes
-downclocking and overclocking my ram
-overclocking and underclocking my CPU

I still do not have any ground textures! Its maddening.
I use the BF2 deluxe version with all the lastest PR + xmas pack

Here are my system specs
AMD Phenom II B25 3.3ghz
Ati MSI 5830
6gb of Crucial 1333mhz Ballistix ram
500gb seagate 7200rpm
650watt Corsair PSU
Asus 880g SB 850 motherboard

I need textures because without them on maps with no buildings with mostly desert or mountains I can just use my binocs and spot all the enemies and give exact location, granted my squad loves it but I do not I HATE IT! the mod looses all of its lust within seconds! If theres anything I can do to maybe fix this mess please help.

Ok i have just tried what this bloke said

"So after much testing I finally have found a solution that works...in fact it's been solid for a few weeks now. I edited the shortcut's properties and, under the "compatibility" tab I checked to "disable visual themes," "disable desktop composition" and just for kicks "disable scaling on high DPI settings." I haven't tested which of those options are responsible for fixing this and frankly I don't care to expend the effort now that the game works properly "

My results are screenshots below. It didn't help, this is rather annoying.

If you still have trouble run battlefield cleaner to flush out your video cards cache files.
