new pc

Post by dyson20 »

basically I need a new pc my old dell inspiron laptop has 'had it' no screen/CD drive, slow, over heats , battery and power problems, the works so i need to get a new pc and i want a desktop this time round. i already have one in the house which is the spec i got on here and its awesome but i don't have ?1.300 to spend in fact i only have ?300-350 which i know is not good and i want it before 4th Jan before Vat goes up to 20% all i need it for at the moment is to play PR and to do my coursework for college. i have seen some desktops in that price range but not sure if they would be good enough. I think it probably needs to be a custom one and i wouldn't mind building one but the budget is really small any ideas anyone

needs to be:
Desktop
up to ?300-350
Win 7
either pre built, custom or home made
able to play PR well enough

preferably i would like to upgrade it to eventually play arma2 but that's not the main priority

any help would be awesome cheers

you will need at least 900-1000$ to build a computer that can run PR and last at least 2 years before it needs to be upgraded.

Hell i bought my desktop pc back in 2006 with around 1900$ and it still runs like a charm, in fact i wont have to upgrade till 2013-2014.

The more you spend on it the longer the hardware stays current and less you have to upgrade.

simple as that

Your first statement is false, I got mine for 700 and it will last 5 years :)

But i agree with your last statement that the more you spend on the longer it will last.

Moved to Tech Support.

OT: Same as Gazz I buy my stuff from OCuK which is a great site and has some really good deals and their pre-built rigs are awesome and very affordable.

The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory. Someday this war's gonna end... "
