Wehicle Wrecks

So, good evening all! Just wanted to ask, how long does every wehicles wreck stay in game?

It's just i really like to use them as cover, but they has a horrible habit of blowing up after a fixed amount of time, so could u please tell me how long can i use them before getting hurt or exposed? :)

ground vehicle wrecks stay for 2minutes (some smaller cars only for 1 minute), but if they get shot at, they might blowup earlier.

Hm, thats odd. Could swear my squad one used an BTR wreck as cover for 5min or so, but maybe that has been changed.

I'm pretty sure ground vehicle wrecks stay for much longer than 2mins Leusch?

i thought most wrecks last until their replacement spawns onto the battlefield

Pretty sure its more then 2 minutes.

However, speaking of wrecks. Do they have to blow up all the time?

An example: Driving around in an open area, nme ambush. All soldiers bail from vehicle.
Without other cover, vehicle (humvee/landy etc) gives great cover...untill shot upon to much and it blows up hurting/killing those covering behind it. Same if you drive and car is almost wrecked, you see car smoking/flames and you bail, but get killed by explosion.

Can't a vehicle just become "wrecked" without it exploding?. Don't get me wrong, if a vehicle gets blown up by an explosion (IED, RPG) then all is fine. But from smallarms fire and bumby roads we could do without it exploding. Is there a fix? Would we want one?

its 20mins, from the type95's .tweak file:

ObjectTemplate.armor.timeToStayAsWreck 1200
ie, its a wreck for 1,200 seconds (20mins) unless destroyed by fire before that time runs out.

its 20minutes and 10minutes

....damn i overlocked a zero at the end of each value (1200 and 600 sec)
