Silent eagle back to 0.917 factions

Don't you hate that a good map like silent eagle is ruined because lack of AT-kits. I would like to ask this from the Devs:

Could you just switch the german faction back to what it was (US? British?) Would it disable the CTD issue that is with the german HAT-kits? I would like to see this updated in the next patch (if possible) if you can't locate the German HAT bug.

I don't remember are there any other german faction *** maps in the mapslist, but if there are, you could do the same to them. Lashkar is ok, because it balances the map perfectly now. That way, there would also remain one german faction map. thanks.

for this there must be a patch and the funny part is with the next patch the CTD bug is eliminated. So its useless to ask for that.

well if they really can fix it, then, copy that!

can't just wait to play that map again... it's a little frustrating now

I actually love the fact there are no AT kits right now. People are now screwed when they get in contact with them.

Second with thi guy, now I see much more people grabbing engineer or asking for CAS/mortars whenever I play Silent Eagle.

The map was initially made for German v. Russian, I don't think that they would switch it back to the US Army. Just my two cents.

Having them would be nice, yeah, but I don't think the map is ruined by their absence. Infantry can still build ATGM launchers and destroy AFVs that way (recently destroyed 4 in one round with one launcher). ATGM use requires some teamwork as well, which is niiice.

The only reason the German H-AT kit was removed was because this could be done by way of a server side only patch, thus avoiding the difficulty of getting players to download a new patch.

The bug with German H-ATs has been located, however would require a client (player downloaded) patch, as would a change of faction for a map so with that in mind for the next patch the bug will simply be fixed with no need for a change of factions.

true and ofc nice to hear

however is it so bad that in a mod that is focused on improving teamwork requires infantry to work alongside armour elements to beat the enemy? which is the case for this scenario

I still play silent eagle I'm not saing that. It's just not as realistic anymore. Building FOBs and again TOWs is crucial now. Ofcourse if you have a good pilot in the jet or an attack chopper CAS comes in handy and that works really good when you have mumble and I can talk to the chopper or jet which usually is possible when I play on Pelitutka or PRTA. Unfortunately on non-mumble servers the communication level usually just drops too crucially for the map.

Thanks for the clearing out there is no server side patch option jigsaw.
I'll gradly wait for the next patch. I am sure it will be worth waiting for!

I like (as a pilot) that the ground forces call for CAS more on Silent Eagle...keeps me not bored after I take out the cows, havok, and mig....

What was wrong with the german HAT kit? just made servers crash? (I got the new updated after they were phased out)

It didn't make servers crash it made whole teams CTD. Thats all we've been told so far, well that and that it required specific circumstances that were too rare to find in testing and were only revealed after release.

I think if they really could fix it, they would do it by now. It has been like 3+ months without a fix to CTD issue. So if they have it, whats the point of making people wait and CTD all the time and rage quit PR as a whole.
