That looks amazing! The lighting is great and the fog improves the look of it all!

nothing short of amazing... This is going to be good I hope... I can almost feel the intense firefights that surely will appear in the jungle..
Could we get a more detailed minmap ? spawns and such ? also a movieclip would be really nice..
When do you reckon its going to be ready ?

Yeah they all work fantastic, performance is up as well! I will compile a list of things that still need work (A lot of the overgrowth statics have problems sticking out of the ground on slopes, eg. Kentia Palm Cluster is unusable at the moment because half of it floats if it is on even a slight incline. It's no biggie, easy fixes in general for most of the things. Starting to work on all the areas of interest now, and I will be adding tons of roads and mountain trails for infantry. It feels huge because of the viewdistance and terrain.

Thanks a lot for the quick testing and feedback
Yeah and feel free to let me know of any problems you might have.
The Kentia Palm cluster should be easy to fix by giving the trunks deeper roots underground...
Btw I still might add 1 or 2 more statics maybe within the next week or so, when I do I will include any fixes you might need.

you can fix clusters slightly if you apply a NormalScale around 0.5 or even 1ChiefRyza wrote:Yeah they all work fantastic, performance is up as well! Nah mate, it was a slight problem with the objects themselves. You can assume I know at least most about what I am doing
The problem is that the terrain is too rough for the clusters of palms (being too far apart), which try and stick to the centre point of the static. So the middle palm goes in alright, but the other ones float even on small hills. It doesn't matter though, the normal Kentia palms look great on their own.

Re: Congo Insurgency (Name WIP) - (2km)
well they are actually different sizes, whats the size in pixels?
the OGatlas is where all teh vegitation textures for the map to load are kept, as each map has a different selection of OG, the OGatlas is different per map.
e.g. basrah is 2048x512. kashan is 1024x512
smaller = better on the 2GB RAM or less crowd

you can also manually repack your atlas since the BF2 editor is really shit at packing atlases to save a lot more space in a lot of cases but doing that is pretty tricky.

Re: Congo Insurgency (Name WIP) - (2km)
im really interested in seeing tiny caves for the Congolese to crawl through prone in darkness. that would be somthing almost never done before, and defenitly never done with PR. the caves in PR are spasious. but these little mining tunnels could be a refuge for insurgents to take cover in. maybe even the odd weapons cache in there, but if there was a cache in a tunnel that you had to prone through it would be almost impossible to get without horrible losses to each team.
the other thing about that is PR has little in the way of "smoking them out" In real life they would probobly use somthing like tear gas or somthing similar. Fire, dogs and grenades just wouldnt do it.
Also i like the fog. it makes it feel like a real jungle.

+1 on the fog. The thick fog layer looks good. I'd like to see it thicker than the Op Ghost train fog. Also enough foliage to actually cover and hide mines/grenade traps. Jungle fighting FTW.
Best line yet...

Amazing
If you do caverns and stuff, add some vegetations in it
And I got a name for your map : Jungle Clash. Do you like it?

Re: Congo Insurgency (Name WIP) - (2km)
I like it but I think we should stick to something without "Jungle" in it, since we already have maps that feature that...
