Medal of Honor copies PR: 0.8 music?
I was listening to the PR 0.8 song: Hunting Taliban when I realised a very close resemblance to the Medal of Honor (2010) Main Menu Theme.
This happens at ~2 minutes. I have posted a video on youtube of the PR song by PirateX, and a link to the MOH song in the description.

If this doesnt work, then try: YouTube - Project Reality: v0.8 OST - Hunting Taliban (PirateX)
MOH Theme: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-66gdNzqGOw
Have a listen for yourself. Personally, I've liked the music in PR so much I purchased Scott's v0.9 album.

Not the same song, used similar instruments, and probably the same key to write then. Listen to the percussion, it's an entirely different rhythm.

They might be similar, a couple parts of MoH seemed to take cues from PR.

Indeed the recording quality is higher, having studio time payed by the employer probably had something to do with the end results. I'm sure given the tools/toys any above mediocre musician could come up with similar results, independent producers tend to have a more difficulties then those backed by say...EA.

Some points are the same like 0:44 in the MoH song sounds like 0:42 in the PR song , but like Murphy said; same instruments and the same Eastern note-scale/key, if I would have to compose a music-piece in eastern style, they I'm sure I would have something simillar to it.

Not the same, but sure both composers would be impressed to know that players are listening and even comparing music. Both composers would probably be happy to know someone out there thinks they sound the same, because these themes are very well written.
I have been very impressed with PR's music production (the theme songs). It is kinda obvious that the budget will be smaller, but I have to admit that the PR themes sound better than most of the war games I have played. Fine, the theme does not stick in my head like Battlefield 1942's theme, but it was influenced by terminator 2's theme. The composer did his job well and did what he got paid for.
As for PR: I think the work done by PR staff is more "work from the heart" as apposed to doing something for money, so we can all rest assured that this awesome MOD we are playing is done by artists/programmers that seriously love what they do, from the first 8 bars of percussion and all the hours of work on the reverb to place it right in the mix, to the programmers sitting for months getting the shading just right. (yeah i sound like a hippie, but im not. Just drinking jaggermeister after a long day at the office)
Now, seeing that you clever people listen to the music, how do I go about getting the soundtrack?

You can either visit Alkali's blog, for more information on his albums digital download, or go to your PR folder and open common_client.zip/sound/Menu/music for the tracks that are in the game. They're in the .ogg format.svsguitarlab wrote:Now, seeing that you clever people listen to the music, how do I go about getting the soundtrack?![]()
This should be an interesting thread, too.
