Algeria? It seems that it was a political defeat and not a military one.
Indochina? Didn't the US have been defeated there too?
I'm fed up of all these ignorant kids saying we're only good at retreating (not talking about PR players but in general). And if it is because of Irak and our refusal of joining the coalition, it's pretty much clear now that this war was useless and not justified.
I am not too strong on the modern french history, I m just wondering why we have to endure these "jokes".
Now I am very respectful to every soldier, even from countries with absolutly no military history, I think every man who serve his country and take the eventuality to risk his life for it deserve respect.
please explain to me the reason of these jokes, thank you! :)

Again, awesome job, good to know about reddot and eotech
I'm going with WW2 followed by Vietnam mate. If anyone studies a little bit of history, they know that the French either put up a huge fight, or won most wars up until the 19th Century (ignoring the Franco-Prussian War)

edit: midnight, it's about ww2, unfortunately the fact that petain called for a treaty early in the war is widely known, but the french sacrifices and general military performance a lot less. frankly, I find those jokes rather uncalled for as well.
we dutch were overrun in 5 days because our mounted divisions preferred to ride bikes and our military doctrine was based on giving the germans wet feet, I never hear any jokes about that :p
Thank you. Just what I wanted to know.

Yep, it comes from WWII. Because France, being one of the most influential countries at that time lost in...2 months, and that is with the help of brits. I won't even get into such details as french army equipment, which was mostly top of the line and sometimes even superior to German (them tanks). Not to mention the french promises of attacking Germany first to help out their great Polish ally, but no one ever cares about pawland so no surprise here.

Mais assez d'histoire mes amis.

Thanks mate.

Just, if the French soldiers wear a blue helmet it's because they are from UNIFIL. Which is mandated by the UN to hold the Lebanese frontier.

And this is why IDF is going to be the OpFor on Operation Marlin.

IDF should be OPFOR even for Insurgents

Merci. Il est plaisant de voir un si bon francophone par ici. ;)

The most important thing in history, it's what we are living now. We (Europeans and aslo Western countries) live in peace together and it's the most important thing actually.

Project Reality is a good example of what we should do : people from every countries who work together to do great things.

So please, don't give a shit to stereotypes and try to learn more about the others.

Awsome work guys , but after Dtac's post i was wondering....
How come we have the FRF2 as a sniper rifle ? is it not given to our Tirreur de precision which is (i think) the same as Designated marksman and our Tirreur d'Elite (sniper equivalent) get the Hecate (if im not wrong again you guys have military advisor )

IIRC the Hecate (sniper rifle) is a .50 cal sniper and they are not allowed in PR.

I dont, but I wanted to understand. It becomes really annoying these times with every FF updates comes these same stupid jokes. I maybe smiled for the 20 first times, now it's just annoying.

Yeah these jokes have been quite popular since 2003, difference is that back then people actually meant it for some reasons. Anglo-saxon disinformation and stereotypes at work I guess. Now I feel these as little jokes, annoying and repetitive but I myself don't only have tender words toward our English and American allies, so.. :p

Anyway this is really good, France vs IDF is going to be nice, politics aside, I like the equipment both sides.. Hope you won't be accused of being anti-semite as it is the trend here in France whenever you say anything against Israel. ;)

Great stuff, love you guys. :goodvibes

Was not even funny the first time to be honest. Such lack of wit/understanding of history.
