PR Guide

Post by ishinay »

Hi!
I bought BF2 past week after try a "free" version, since I was bored of CS. It was fine because I thought I was going to find a "good team work", but what I found were, again, "hopping rabbits" (I HATE that things).
I was going to put BF2 in the trash (metaphorically) and I read somewhere about PR.
It seems great, BUT the manual does not explain all. Specifically I don't find the chapter about squads names.

Where is the "Hi!" thread?

Could you publish a previous version of the guide to keep learning? The current versi?n asks for a login+password.

More questions:

VOIP seems to be disabled in COOP plays for squads, why? :( I first joined a coop play to train (as a noob) but couldn't practice fully.

Thanks!

Have you downloaded the mod. It has a manual for PR.
Also post that you need help in the general section. People will help you if you ask. Even players in game will help. This isn't COD where they'll call you noob for being bad. This is a more mature community.

when you installed the game the manual should be on your desktop.
this should be the most up to date manual https://www.realitymod.com/manual/pr_manual.pdf

Some coop servers have VOIP off, Some have it on.

just re-read your posts, you can change the squad names by before making a squad, on the bottem on the window their is a little button that sais something like "Custom squad" You can use that to make it a custom name.

Your best way to learn the game is just to go play it, But when you play online inform your Squad leader that you are new, and most will help you learn what you need to know for basics.

I would recommend going to a SP games and asking for help, someone might help ya out.
Just ask and someone will answer. I think wika is doing something to help new peaple learn the game.

He might also be referring to how you name your squad after an asset. ;)

And in case you are, that is a server rule. Don't always expect it to be enforced.

On the subject of an PR guide does anyone want to make a video guide. And possibly attract more people.

Have a demonstration of teamwork. Show the lone wolf vs a squad scenario.(AS i'm kinda sic of people just spawning in and doing their own thing)

Show the effects of suppressive fire and how it's meant to be used. (As people just shoot to kill) And have long as fire fights which is good but not many are using the opportunity to flank.

Show why it's good to cross a street in two groups instead of one. And it's often not a good idea to stop drop and return fire when you get shot at. IE you could be in the middle of no where with no cover.

Things like that if I can enough people involved and maybe have a empty server we can do our filming on or something. Then we could really get this working. All i really need is just 10 people.
