When loading certain maps.

Post by Rocamim »

Well, when I try to load maps like Gaza beach and Iron Eagle the PR just closes at the 99% and it back to the desktop screen, sometimes it happens on the map beirut and sometimes I can play it. Someone can solve my problem? PS: I already have played the map Beirut and Gaza Beach with no problems in the same computer BUT it was before the 0.9 version of PR.

sorry for my english. I hope you guys have the solution. Thanks

EDIT1:MY COMPUTER IS WIN7 NOT VISTA.

EDIT2: I can play gaza beach and beirut with no problems when I start a cooperative server.

Try increasing your page file/virtual ram.
1.5x real ram is a good start. Set min and max the same to prevent fragmentation and the loss of performance fragmentation can cause.

Still no joy?

Trash your BF2 cache files
Path:
C:\Users\'your user name here'\Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\cache

Throw EVERYTHING inside the folder named cache away.
don't worry the files will be replaced with new ones when the game restarts.

If you still have trouble run battlefield cleaner to flush out your video cache files

OK if the above didn't work.
Some other things you can try before you uninstall/reinstall.
Backup your BF2 folder that's inside your documents folder. Once you have a backup delete the original from your documents folder.
Try starting PR from your PR shortcut
a new default folder is created
link to your online account.
If all goes well (CTD gone) all you have to do to get your custom settings back is copy your 'control' file from your backup to the new profile folder.
path:
C:\Users\your user name here\Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\0002
note: you may not have a 0002 folder so use 0001

Good luck
