Coming back to Project Reality

Post by Pwnzistor »

Soo, I was a decent player at least, and I'm looking for a group of players to play with over voice coms, to help me get re-oriented since I haven't played since something like.. .3a or .3b

A group of players that plays together.. Not necessarily a clan, just friends, acquaintances, or gaming group like TX Team Players. From what I remember, it really pays to stick together and be organised.

Dog, for the USMC its "Drill Instructor," they get pissed-off when you say the other one.

Never mind, maybe I won't be playing.. Everytime I try to start PR or vanilla BF2 I get a spash screen, then black screen then BAM back to desktop. I have Windows 7 64bit, and a GTX 470, any idea about issues?

Right now I'm browsing the support forums.. tried a few different things, no luck so far.

Run in bf2.exe in administrator and Windows XP compatibility mode, see if that helps.

Yeah, tried all the obvious fixes, I'm so glad to be an above average computer user.. So what I'm doing now is downloading 1.4 patch, I TRIED installing 1.5 but it told me I had a newer version installed.. so I was all "wtf" but hopefully this fixes it, I was just browsing through the Tech Archives and saw someone fixed the same problem that way .. wish me luck!

**Fixed it, but now I'm stuck with a new issue: stuck optimizing shaders at 62%, will sort later**

When that happened to me, I think I made a clean reinstall (remove the entire BF2 directory) and updated the video card. Also lowered graphics for the first time it worked... but I think you already tried that.
Guys, when a new player comes, just answer his question and go on your merry way, instead of going berserk! It's THAT simple! :D

You need to patch BF2 first to 1.41 then patch to 1.5. Then install PR.
