Well I only played a little and tbh I've only been playing for a week after a 2-3 year gap, think I stopped playing when .8 dropped. Really enjoyed playing this evening though even though I'm rusty as hell.

Look forward to trying to fit some more games in over the weekend. Hopefully some of the rest of the oldies from .:iGi:. will make an apperance.

Oooh.... someone pass me my liniment & bunion cream from my old medic bag!

Aye, well.... All installed and good to go here (despite one of my GPU's deciding to go mammaries-up today :roll :) only problem is Mumble. I have the one we used in-clan but the PR version seems to be a bit wonky. I'll bug A.D. and have him show me the way (OK Father? :-) )

Time's been tight al-la gaming since I started a new job and became a dad (Gaming? Yeah, once I get that spare set of eyes for the back of my head!) It'd be nice to see a packed to the gunwales server again. As has been said, a lot of us drifted to ArmA & CoD for our run & gun jollies mostly because we were a little *ahem disenchanted with the way the game had gone but that's history/water under the bridge/last night's fish & chip wrapper.

So, it'll be nice to see everyone on an .:iGi:. server again - who knows: maybe we'll be able to prise some of the clan funds out of UGH's clammy mitts and get a dedi-box up and running once more.

Now, how does one spell artillery?

Indeed, two epic rounds. Had a great time last night.

The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory. Someday this war's gonna end... "

beirut was great fun, and silent eagle after was good too, had one of my favourite armour rounds when naruto and I adopted a tank, tore sh*t up til the rounds end.

server pop was dieing a bit on archer, but did some serious walking and SF style things, good fun.

all in all very fun, just wish there'd been more old school faces about.

Last night was one of the best rounds of PR I had in weeks.

When I joined the server wasn't crowded only 8 people were there. We got pwnd the first round cuz we lost east beach and then failed to retake it. After that map changed to Beirut and my old sqaud formed up again with Afterdune leading us.

By now the server counted around 40 people which allowed for some intense fighting. I was the sqauds medic and I'm not lying when I say that there was not a moment no one needed me.

After we had taken market district my sqaud (SQ 2 ) got surrounded just east of the H shaped compound and men were failling beside me rapidly. I got em all up and we managed to locate the source of the fire. It was the H shaped building where as we had previously seen the enenmy had established a FOB. Then all of a sudden I heard gunfire at maybe 10 feet away. The bullets whistled around my ears and killed 3 sqauddies and me. We had been ambushed and were now losing Market district.

We all respawned at the Fob that had been built in the railway yard and after serveral failed attempts to retake market my sqaud found itself in one of the buildings south of the H shaped building. We established a base of fire and managed to take down a good few enemies.

Then all of a sudden we received serious MG and grenade fire. we tried to return fire but any effort to lift our heads out of cover resulted in a headshot. We realized we had been pinned and Afterdune called for APC extraction.

The big APC arrived on the scene and we all rushed towards it. Then a HAT round struck the APC's left track and immobilized our route to safety. We wanted to get the APC out of there by callin repair support and starting firing on the presumed HAT position. The APC had already popped smoke when a second round hit it and we could kiss our fall back goodbye,

By now we had been surrounded and we couldn't even leave the building anymore and minutes later we were all wiped out.

Then several attempts later we managed to seize and clear the H shaped building and we now had a good position to capture market. After some time the fighting intensified and SQ 2 ( my sqaud)and SQ 4 found themselves surrounded in the H shaped building. The enemy stormed the building and managed to secure the first floor. They had already taken the west wing and my sqaud had gathered on the third floor east wing.

As I went down to revive a fallen teammate a saq something moving at least I thought I saw something moving. I sat still at the top of the stairs with my weapon on full auto as I realized we were all about to die. A head poked around the corner and I quickly sprayed hiss *** goodbye. Then a second head now on the other side of the stairs. I swung my gun in his direction and sqeeuzed the trigger. But all that happened was "Click". I heard the crack of his gun and fell down to the Earth.

That is where my great experience ended.

Seeing this server on the server list the other day brought back some very fond memories. Now we just need to get Gloryhounds and Thors back up and running. :-)
