So do I need the X-Mas map pack?

I keep getting a MD5Tool check that fails on me for only SOME of the servers, these are called 0957e, while I usually play on a server that is 24/7 Muttrah City, and have never been kicked from it for any sort of MD5Tool thing

Can't remember the exact file that failed but it was somehting like bf2/mods/Clientarchieve.con (len=306), ill try to replicate it later today

Do I need the map pack to play on servers running said map pack even though they are not playing the current map on the server?

No, the map pack is only needed if you're trying to load a holiday map.

you definitly dont need the christmas map pack, if theres a christmas pack map loaded it would crash with a different error anyways.

md5 checksum is a unique indicator for the consistence of a file, pretty much an easy way to find out if 2 files are redundant. the message tells you that the file is corrupted, likely by an error while downloading or installing.

find out which file it is and copy it from someone else or let someone upload it for you. that should fix it.

not anymore no one is playing the maps right now . . . there fun but one is Wide open and boring the other is laggy but operation snowstorm is fun . .. except it needs updating . and short no you dont need it
