Lol. It's the event in A'stan where the Dutch get ambushed after getting back from a raid on a possible IED factory. That ambush was at 09:11 zulu time, the raid was a bit earlier, hence the "raid at dawn" -> youtube vid (ambush part starts at 1:49).

But enough about that, let's return to Bongo Congo Land :p .

I'm not, I think the name "winterwonderland" is hilarious :p . As in, I like it ;) .

But as I said, let's get back to Bongoland :) .

This looks spectacular Ryza, PR is missing a really dense jungle map and I urge you to continue working on it as first impressions are superb :D

Don't worry about me not finishing it Jigsaw :-P It's well on the way to completion. Just getting into completing areas of interest (Cache locations) - then I have to begin work on the tons of roads and trails that have to run through most of the map. Also working on lots of thin creeks that run throughout the mountain ranges, they break the feeling of the endless jungle (trust me, you need areas to take a breather) and provide areas for setting up defenses, chokepoints and ambushes without being surrounded by a blanket of green.

I'll upload a video later on this week of a walkthrough of some of the areas of the map. I've also been a little busy completely redoing Operation Tempest, so I will update that thread as well soon.

Here is a small video of me running around the jungle. I cover a tiny fraction of the map leading out of the French Base - compressing the video meant a lot of quality was lost including colouring, but it looks much better in game. The whole map is still a very big work in progress, and this is just a look at an early stage of the level.

Looks really good.

I reckon the woodbunker statics would suit this map to make hiding places for caches.

Looks good Ryza. Two things to consider:

1) the ambient noise is way too loud imo (it will give people a headache if they have to hear that for 2 hours)

2) the undergrowth might be a bit too tall and when it doesn't render at a distance, players will think they're in concealment when they are not.

As excited as I am about this map.. I was equally as excited about Tempest but I fear this will go the way of that too; it becomes tiresome working on the same map for so long?

Looks awesome, ambience is right but its a bit too thick. The cicadas and the light bird chiping is enough IMO, everything else can be triggered to happen a little less often.

In my opinion the ambient soundtrack could be a little less loud/dense, however the environment looks absolutely stunning. Great job!

I hope the jungle of "Jungle Fire" will be as beautiful as this one, it have to be! I mean, we see such jungle is now possible on BF2, thanks to your hard work guys, so it have to be similar for the other jungle maps.

Can't wait to see more! The French forces are lucky ;)
dont forget that Jungle Fire is 4 times bigger !
