CPU fan RPM / temp.

Post by WeeGeez »

Hello.
I recently replaced my mobo (new). put PC back as it was before. no major problems bar ONE. Both the the chasis and CPU fans produce far too much noise.

5000 RPM for 31C (at Idle)?
are these values right or are they dangerously wrong? Im not sure if I applied enough thermal paste you see so I want to make sure.

The noise is normal..
I read online that CPU fans with a TX3 connector (like mine) will be noisy as its not a 4pin. Theres a setting in the BIOS to enable "quiet" options but "function can only be enabled if a female connector with 4 pins" is plugged into the mobo, which I honestly cant find anywhere online... google keeps coming up with 4pin MOLEX connectors :-x what term should I be using as "TX4" doesnt work either.

yeah, 4 pin fan header. looks just like the 3 pin fan header, just one extra wire.
