What are your favourite map rotations?
Hey guys,
So I have been wondering, What are your favourite map rotations (In other words, Favourite maps, However, In order) ?
If you don't have a whole map rotation, Maybe you have some maps that you think would be good to be played in a row?
Mine is:
Muttrah City
Al Basrah
Jabal al Burj
Op Archer
Kokan
Operation Barracuda
Kashan Desert
I can't really remember other maps...
Please tell me your favourite rotations...
I apologize if this has been posted before.
EDIT:
New Server: https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f29-pr ... urope.html
I would like to ask you on behalf of my clan (Battleforce) to check it out and possibly give it a try!
The map rotation was based on the answers over here, However it will change every now and then!
Cheers,
Punkbuster

Re: What are your favourite map rotations?
even if overplayed maps are becoming exhausted, i would prefer a vote. afaik there is nothing developed since now, this has to be done first
the problem of map rotations is the server crash that often occurs. as a normal pr player, he has no problem with server crashes but it leads to the point that the first maps are getting overplayed and the last maps are becoming really rare.
so i dont like fixed rotations, i like it if admins change it several times in a week.

Re: What are your favourite map rotations?
I use to hate Muttrah city, but with the clan the other night, we tried a completely different tactic approach on the US, and i think it has put enjoyment back into Muttrah for me.
If anyone is interest.
Old tactic - Get heli to docks, with AT, move point to point. Enter stale mate on the main road, hide in alley, only to get raped by M.E.C APCs at every attempt to get across the road. AT normally gets APC, only for it to be replaced by two more.
New tactic - Get boat to docks, and swim along the sea front, point to point, hold mosque, and hold until they are held back to M.E.C fortress.

Mainly forest maps with factions that use AKs for me, also "auto"-leaving muttrah/asad/jabal.
Dragon Fly
Silent Eagle
Kozelsk
Wanda Shan
Lashkar
Yamalia
...I can jump on any of those maps even if my clan is playing somewhere else cuz thats my style, also 90% ill switch to opfor
Tired of wide open and thus simple (imo) maps.

Muttrah City is too repetitive for me. Basrah has to be my favourite

Fallujah West is underplayed. I like it a lot more than a lot of other INS maps.

Re: What are your favourite map rotations?
Being rather new to PR, I haven't played all the maps enough to give a complete opinion, but here are some of my favourites -
1 - Muttrah City; overplayed but you can't deny the quality. Points scored for aesthetics, too.
2 - Kozelsk; I love the forest setting.
3 - Wanda Shan; optimized, this would be the best sixteen square kilometer map. Nice having China and Russia go at it.
4 - Silent Eage; probably my favourite. I love the setting.
5 - Kokan; this is how you make a insurgency map. It has no shortage of flaws but nevertheless is probably my favourite insurgency map, mainly because there's lots of transport for both sides and as an insurgent I never feel far away from the action - two of the biggest reasons why I dread maps such as Archer and Fallujah. Again, points scored for aesthetics.
Maps that didn't make the list and why -
1 - Kashan; looks bland and just isn't a tonne of fun for a lowly infantryman due to a lack of good cover. Yeah, know there isn't a heck of a lot of cover in a desert.
2 - Iron Eagle; the entire game gets caught up because of the design of the Cave Bunker. Would be much better if the final room lacked the ability to have .50s set up in it and had more than one way in.
3 - Jabal al Burj; suffers from bottleneck due to a lack of routes through the map and the bridge from the MEC base. Most games get caught up in the city because there are only two, rather narrow, roads leading out of it.
4 - Barracuda; needs thicker jungle. Great set-pieces though.
5 - Burning Sands; pretty much everything that's wrong with it I'm certain will be fixed by .96 - the domes of death and crash-ey-ness.
