You must use PR.exe to start Project Reality.

Post by Karahaut »

I installed Battlefield 2 and made my account. I installed Project Reality perfectly and went in, but when I login in I am greeted with that error (as said in the title).

I have tried this method: +modPath mods/pr +menu 1 +fullscreen 0 +widescreen +szx 1024 +szy 768 but it did not work. I also used the launcher from this link: https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f10-pr ... -beta.html

I even use the auto hotkey method, but alas, it did not work. I looked around through the forum archives and couldn't find an answer I had already tried. I am at a loss here, can someone help?

I finally got past this problem. But now, I'm getting invalid cd key error. I tried some of the fixes and nothing is working. I'm pretty lost. Anybody got any tips?

Either people never learn or are just dumb. Every forum dictates to read the FAQ before posting problems, and if it doesn't, it should be SOP if you have an average IQ. Not trying to insult you, but people just never learn.

Yes, I saw you already solved it, but next time...

As for the invalid CD key error, I'm not a pro nor an expert or a dev, but I am quite sure that part of if not the entirety of your game is not an original copy, ie pirated.

The CD key error happens quite often on completely legal copies of BF2. The easiest way to fix it imo is to simply reinstall BF2 and it's patches. Though if you don't want to do that you can change part of the registry to re-validate your key, here is a guide on how to do it: You can find this in the sticky section of the PR:BF2 Support forum.

Just remembered: There's also an app called Battlefield 2_code.exe which allows you to enter your CD key again and should fix the problem, sometimes it doesn't work but it's worth a shot since it's for sure the easiest fix. You can find it in C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\Support (Depending on where you saved your game.)
