CTD - Only in Choppers?

Background:
My joystick broke in November 2010, and thus I've been on a long break from flying. I managed to open it up and seemingly fix the problem a couple of days ago. I've been playing PR every week during 11/2010 - 2/2011.

Problem:
Since I've started flying again since Saturday, I've CTD'd three times. In the entire ~3 months I've been playing without piloting, I have had one CTD (I generally remember issues because I rage hard enough about regular PR... when my computer fricks something up it's a memorable couple of minutes). Two CTDs in Chinooks and one in a Mi-17(? Russian trans chop) which happened ~30 minutes ago.

Like the old Medic CTD, I'm wondering if anyone else out there is experiencing a similar situation, or I've just had unbelievably bad luck with the timing and frequency of CTDs since I started flying again.

CTDs occurred while flying on:
Operation Archer 64 (BigD #2) x2
Beirut 64 (BigD #2) x1

What servers did you play on before this issue? Try playing another server other than BigD because the frequency and them all being on the same server leads me to believe that either the server is unstable or you have a bad connection to the host.

I only ever play on BigD (aside from perhaps once or twice a month on TG when I'm up late/early enough). I do not CTD on bigD during:
- Infantry
- Building
- Light ground trans (trucks/jeeps/techies etc)
- Armour

But thus far all my CTDs have been chopper related. That being said, I piloted for 1.5 hours straight without dramas yesterday... sooooooooooooo I dunno

Will continue to report back if the problem persists. I was very curious as to whether anyone else was experiencing chopper-only CTDs

Just had another crash in pretty much the exact spot in the chinook on Archer; Had flown without issues for 1.25 hours before that in same chinook

By the same spot do you mean after a certain amount of time or a certain place on the map?

Same area of the map... just east of Canadian main

That's very weird. Does it happen in that spot when you're flying in any direction, or just when you came out of the main? What is your OS?

It has happened twice in that spot, however earlier that round I'm certain I flew there multiple times. Both times that it has CTD'd like that I have been leaving main base.

OS = 7 64bit.

Brother who was inf @ the time says there was an IED explosion to the north (few hundred meters) just as I crashed, but I feel that is coincidental.

This should be the BR for the round, although it happened way near the end so it'd involve a lot of skipping forward (and I don't recommend watching it ).

I was going to say that there could just be too much to render when you look from that spot but your system seems too powerful for that.
