[0957] Your Must use PR.exe to run Project reality Message Bug

Hey guys iv noticed that im getting the "You must use "PR.exe" to run Project Reality message appear 7/10 times when im loading up Project reality.

I have the Steam version of BF2 and im running PR via a shortcut on my desktop directly to PR.exe

Shortcut Properties:

Code: Select all

[b]Target:[/b] "C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe" + restart
[b]Start In:[/b] "C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\battlefield 2\mods\pr"

It seems almost pot luck that i get past this "warning message" when i try and load in to the game

Im asuming this is going to be unique to the steam version of BF2 possbily due to were BF2 is installed.

If any more information is required please let me know and ill update this thread.

FINALLYY!!!! after days on this problem i was just about to give up. Ive tried everything, i was convinced it was an exe/ short cut problem. I found this purely by trial and error. However i do believe there are many problems that involve this error coming up so theres a chance this wont work. But for me.... It was the net framework. Update it here Download Confirmation

I think you have to disable the Steam Overlay, PR doesn;t like it to much iirc
