Black and White issues

Post by Clooney »

I recently got a 2nd graphics card and noticed that when I bleed out to black and white mode my screen just goes entirely black. I can't see a thing. Has anyone else had this?

This seems like its in the wrong section and more details would help find a solution

For me the effect just doesn't appear, so my view is normal (or sometimes regular wounded view) at very low health. Do you have an Nvidia card?

Got the same thing with ATI 5770 in crossfire. Its the ATI drivers and BF2 engine. Nothing you can do except turn of crossfire when playing PR.

I have the exact same issue. Tried to get some help to it as well but alas it was in vain.

The only solution for me was a) don't use crossfire with pr to enjoy better graphics and have that normal bleeding screen b) if you MUST use crossfire, disable antialiasing totally from PR video options. Then it works but of course the graphics are little messy..

It has something to do with the bf2/pr shaders and crossfire profiles by ATI.

ps. It's pretty annoying when the game that you mostly play doesn't fully support crossfire.. :/

This is known to happen with nvidia cards.

The fun fact is, that when you bleed out badly and get that black and white screen, you cannot run nor move as fast as normally (which is as it should be). But by not having the bleeding screen at all takes also these disadvantages away and you can still operate like with full health.

If you have two video cards, there's a pretty good chance you can run almost maxed without having any fps drop anyway.. ;P

I think I'd rather play with very high FPS at max settings than suffer that performance loss just to see a slightly experience modifying view obstruction a couple seconds before I die....
Luckily I don't use two GPUs and don't have to make that choice. :)

Did you try updating your driver?
Try changing the Anti Aliasing settings...
I remember in vBF2 and BF2142 when you died and you had any Anti Aliasing, The screen would have gone weird!

No that's wrong, I have nvidia card too and the black and white screen is missing, but I do suffer from bleeding disadvantages ;)
