Only 1 Question about PR:T

Post by dunem666 »

Who decides upon the rules and standards of which these games and players are inducted/conducted?

The reason I ask, Ive seen/ heard 'rumours' about foul play in official tournament games and server admins are seeing a much bigger increase in PRT tag wearing player completly and utterly dis-obey semi standard server rules. Like Baserape. We have even had to ban a couple of guys for team greifing.

I think if these guys are wearing some sort of 'official' PR T tag prefix, then surely the standards and rules need to be reviewed.

If anyone would like to PM me and ask why specifically, id be more than happy ot respond with a informative answer.

At the end of the day, if i was a main R-DEV id be pretty p'd off to know my hard effort to help make the game was being abused greifing tactics, especially by official PRT tag wearplayers.

(the reason i havent posted this on the tourny website is that it will be un noticed by officials of whom i was to read this. )

Many thanks.

The truth of the matter is you don't have to be special to wear tourney tags, its an open tournament. Anyone can wear them and anyone frequently does.

If any of these guys are current tournament players I'm sure their respective teams HCOs would be very interested to know about any bad behavior.

In C1/C2 I was always told we should never wear our 'battle tags' in public. Might have changed over the years though....

C9 Rules.

As WebCole has stated talk to the respective CO's and report them, I know of a few with the Tourny tags that are pure griefers, and I feel bad for the staff of PR and the Tournament that have to put up/deal with these people.

Well, PR:T attracts a large number of players... and that means that, unfortunately, some people won't be up to the standarts while outside the tournament.

I mean, take the # and |TG| tags. I have heard and seen some occasions that basically went against what they stand for. Because they are used by a much smaller group of people, the odds of finding griefers is much, much smaller.

What I mean is, there are good guys and bad guys, and both can be present in the best of the situations. I myself had an experience with a player which I considered a great teamplayer that, in the next day I met him, he was totally unsubordinate and disrespecting server rules.

I myself had issues with this in the beginning of this week. I was driving a vehicle and stopped in front of a building to look around it. Suddenly, an enemy shows up and kills my gunner. What I did was swerve out of my way (I actually drove into a dumpster on a successful attempt to kill that guy) as a self-defence instinct. That was not allowed in the server rules anyways, as I was explained later (I could have driven-off straight. It was simply safer, in my judgement, to kill that guy).

Anyways, I wouldn't label a community or a competition for the behavior from a couple of participants.
Guys, when a new player comes, just answer his question and go on your merry way, instead of going berserk! It's THAT simple! :D

Well PRT tags are pretty much deceiving imho. It may make a squad like a good one but sometimes, and increasingly this year, some PRT players started getting involved in griefing. However, to prevent this you should contact a PRT admin or a Team HCO so that they can take measures. But also sometimes, some players who are not actually in PRT may also use their Previous PRT tags, which may be deceiving.

Tournament tags just means they play as part of the team. Each player who partakes in the tournament is expected to play with the essencse of PR at the core of HOW they play. If there are people causing issues on your server, report them either in the server admin forums, or PM me the details directly. I would require proof though.

I will not stand for sub-standard ethics where the official tournament is concerned. Perhaps something some have forgotten, or a few have not yet got to grips with. Players and even teams have never been bigger than the tournament, and that's been shown in harsh light before where I'm concerned.

Tourament players beware and take heed. Play like a ****, and you'll be treated as such.

It's a privilege to wear PRT tags, and when you're wearing your PRT tags keep in mind you not only represent your unit and team, but you are representing the tourney as a whole. When someone constantly steps out of line in practice there is little to no leniency, and while their superiors may not be on the server the members of PRT need to remember the entire point of the tourney is to unite the most cohesive, team oriented players. Having some ****** running around greifing with PRT tags reflects badly on all of us, I hope this is resolved and the offender is booted from the rest of the campaign.

Ive rarely had issues with people that uses the PRT Tags. I find most of them capable of communication therfor if overstepping a rule we can easily remind them of the rule. And they will understand.

Usually what the problem does boil down to though, is that the PRT members knows better than me. They might choose not to follow an order or go on without the rest of the team. So i think perhaps PRT players, should work abit more on the macro reasons for the tournament rather then their own micro ones.

[PR]NATO| and [PR]CATA| Players all share a goal of playing PR in the best way possible, that doesnt mean everyone will behave nicely. They are infact just like you and me.

But what i hope the PRT players do in the future is play for their teams, rather than themselfs when ingame.

Please PM me any names of players who you have seen to be breaking rules/griefing with sufficient proof, I'm an Admin in the tourney, and would be very interested to see who these people are.

In future, feel free to PM us on thetourney forums, it's where we are easily contactable.

Many thanks.
The rules of the tournamet are agreed upon by tournament admins and the COs later on.
I am sure if you report misbehaviour with proof to the T-admins or COs they will take action...

Honestly, it's probably all Wicca's fault anyways.

As the admins said, you can PM them the names of the offenders and they will investigate them, or, in the case of NATO players, you can PM me as well on the tourney forums above, and I can look into them. I've already removed a few members for being jackasses, I can always remove a few more, especially if they are being trolls on servers.

That!

And Dunem if you remember their names just tell us, or write them down next time. I'll make sure the PRT CO's will hear about it.
