Introduction + Questions

Post by CrHarvey »

Hey Guys!

Been a long time lurker since .7 or so. Computer failed to Run Pr at all so i decided just to sit on the forums and read :P

So i just reinstalled after a little upgrade, but there is still a few problems

This is where the questions part comes in.

I have problems with objects like doors or sometimes Vehicles not showing a model
and also after sometime of playing the game it Will CTD with no reason.

If anyone has any idea why this is happening i could do with some help :P

Oh and another thing.
agggeeeess ago when i could run it about the .5 stage there was a community event, was wondering if they still go on and how do i go about signing up ?

That is all :)

bye for now

Uh, there's all sorts of community events, you'll have to be more specific about that I suppose :p

As for the CTD's; what's your system specifications? What settings to you run the game on? Textures are the main power-eater from my experience, turn that as low as you can bear. It's often the RAM that has to do with such errors, but RAM is easy to upgrade; so if your processor and video card aren't completely outdated, it might only be needed to buy some memory.

Ok are you running PR with compability on?? If so try turning it off. It may sound illogical but some claim that running PR without compability stops the memory leak that causes some conflicts like CTD.

Yes try that. I don't run win 7 myself but I've read about it in BF :P R Support section in this forum. Give your feedback on your results there... Good luck ;) .

Hey, I think something just got really screwed up somehow, and this has happened to me before, so heres what I think u should do: Reinstall BF2 (when you reinstall make sure you install 1.41 before you try 1.5 if you have the cd version and not steam) then install PR. Make sure you uninstall PR first. Then try again. Good luck!

My last reinstall I did this:

UKWF Dunem install guide

Try to run everything on super low incl resolution to see if that works, then I put up the various graphic settings using this to get it as good as I could.

I use gamebooster seems to help a bit.

The most common CTD issue is memory DLL fix here
