Multiplayer Issues
I'm having issues when trying to connect to a multiplayer server but my co-operative works. Is it because of the fact that I don't have the Special Forces expansion or is it something else entirely?

No, You do not need any expansion pack to play PR!CaptianSarcasm wrote:I'm having issues when trying to connect to a multiplayer server but my co-operative works. Is it because of the fact that I don't have the Special Forces expansion or is it something else entirely?
You only need Vanilla BF2.
Did you patch your game to v1.41 then to 1.5?
Did you download PR 0.957? The 3 parts?? from here: Project Reality : Realistic Gaming Redefined - Downloads ????
Make sure you install everything in the correct order:
1. Install BF2.
2. Patch to 1.41.
3. Patch to 1.5.
4. Install PR Client v0.957 Part 1.
5. Install PR Client v0.957 Part 2.
6. Install PR Client v0.957 Part 3.
7. Install 2010 Holiday Map pack.
I hope this helps.

Re: Multiplayer Issues
I installed everything it's just that the game stops responding after I try to connect to a multiplayer game and it's quite frustrating.

Bit of a long shot but maybe it`s your anti-virus software, try unistalling and then re-installing it, or, when you are trying to connect to a game try checking your desktop to see if microsoft is blocking the connection.
Hope that helps.

Re: Multiplayer Issues
hi,
if the problem presists, we will need some further information: where does the game stop, can you tab, pc specs... whatever you think might be necessary.
on more thing: did you create a local co-op or did you connect to a co-op server on the internet?
regards,
skull
good call, but i wouldnt uninstall, instead just turn off both the windows/other firewall.Borg78 wrote:...maybe it`s your anti-virus software, try unistalling...

Re: Multiplayer Issues
The game stops when i click "Deploy" on the server select screen and I can't tab or anything. And yes I was creating my own co-op games because there are none and my PC's specs are, well they are awful:
Processor: Intel Core i3-550
OS:Windows 7
Hard Drive: 640 GB
Graphics: Integrated Intel HD
Power Supply: 220W
Motherboard: Systemboard with Intel H57 Express Chipset
Expansion Slots: 1 - PCI-E x16
Audio: High-Definition Audio with 5.1-channel Surround Sound Support
If there is anything else you need just tell me and I'll look them up because thats I could find on the side of the computer.

Your system is fine for running PR, try right clicking on your PR shortcut and selecting properties and see if its set to run XP service pack 2 or 3 in the compatibiliy tab, if not set it to that and also try selecting disable visual themes.

Re: Multiplayer Issues
Might aswell, when you have unistalled everything delete the BF2 folder in programs unless you have other mods installed then just delete any PR files that might be left over from the unistall, this will give you a clean install.
Good luck

Re: Multiplayer Issues
I would delete everything PR and BF2 completely.
1-re install BF2 then do the 2 patches-1.42 and 1.5 something
then reboot your computer and after reboot
Do the PR install the easy way at this link https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f10-pr-bf2-general-discussion/90323-release-pr-downloader-0-957-install-pr-easy-way.html.
it worked for me and is a much simpler way to get all the PR files.
Then try the PR multiplayer.

I just spent the past 2 hours downloading the easy link and well, it didn't come with a pr.exe file.

Seriously, well you still have your previous download of PR, the three part one right? Just reinstall that one, it might have been a bad install first time that were causing the issues your having.

I'm wondering is something on your system blocking or killing a file somehow

Re: Multiplayer Issues
It's quite possible. I still don't know my way around Windows 7 too much yet I've only had the computer for a little over a month. Also, I reinstalled the 3 part one. Same problem. I am at the end of my rope here if you guys can fix it I will be highly grateful. Is there anything else you might be able to think of?

Re: Multiplayer Issues
Did you delete the BF2 folder in documents aswell? I would reinstall everything again (I know a real pain to do) with your anti-virus turned off, I think it might be related to that because when you downloaded the easy link one and the pr.exe was gone says to me your anti-virus may be playing apart in that, think BLK BERET is on to something with missing files.
Does the original BF2 allow you to join multiplayer games?

Re: Multiplayer Issues
i think his anti virus or something is def doing so because my rig is brand new also ( had it for about 4 days now) and it has win7 64 bit on it and the method I posted worked like a charm for me.
As he said disable your anti virus delete everything to do with PR & BF2 ect.. the reboot your computer
install BF2 and install both patches for it
Then reboot your computer again
Then do the PR easy install.
and reboot your computer once more.
Rebooting a few times between things make sure everything accepts and attaches correctly and no files get overwritten by your system that should not.

Re: Multiplayer Issues
You should check if the installers are corrupted:
https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f27-pr ... ost1474278
If there are any errors during installation PR will not work.
