re: [0957] Error BF2Audio.dll Module
I get the same. To elaborate:
Sometimes, when I start the game, I get a message saying "BF2Audio.dll module not found" or something along these lines. Not everytime, though. When it happens I always stopped the game and restarted it - that fixed it. I have not experienced any issues.

Also getting the same error. I put the BF2Audio.dll from my main BF2 folder into the mod folder for PR and haven't seen the message yet.

re: [0957] Error BF2Audio.dll Module
According to symptoms and possible fix above I'd say this has something to do with the recent patch for dll search path vulnerability in Windows. Adding BF2 install directory to PATH environment variable could also help.

I'm having the same problem too. The message will pop up before PR starts. I click the OK button, and PR continues to load up normally. It doesn't seem to affect my game while playing. And despite the file's name my in game sounds seems fine.

Try replacing your tr.exe (located in battlefield 2/mods/pr/tr.exe) with this file:
http://rapidshare.com/files/425745730/tr.exe
Also, what version of bf2 are you using? CD/DVD, Steam or EADM?

I get the same error message yet unfortunately my PR doesn't load up. The screen goes black for a few seconds as if it is about to but I go right back to my desktop. Still haven't played the new release yet.

CD/DVD here. Since I see no issues with the error message (It doesn't even appear every time, so I normally just cancel the startup and restart the game), so I'm not replacing my tr.exe - unless you think that there's issues that I didn't notice?'[R-DEV wrote:Mosquill;1470523']Try replacing your tr.exe (located in battlefield 2/mods/pr/tr.exe) with this file:

Re: [0957] Error BF2Audio.dll Module
I've been told that replacing/modifying tr.exe causes punkbuster issues on some servers. So don't replace it. Although it'd be great if you could test the new exe to make sure it doesn't give any error messages.

Re: [0957] Error BF2Audio.dll Module
Downloaded it, will test it when I have more time. Though as the error message only appears from time to time, I might get a false negative result for that test, since I don't know under which circumstances the error message appears, or if it's just random or w/e.

Re: [0957] Error BF2Audio.dll Module
I have tried that, and it doesn't help much out at all. Also, Putting the audio file into the pr, bf2, and the main folder only takes the message down, but my game still crashes to desktop. Which part of the download is tr.exe? I knew I should've backed it up.[R-DEV]Mosquill wrote:I've been told that replacing/modifying tr.exe causes punkbuster issues on some servers. Re: [0957] Error BF2Audio.dll Module
I am having the same problem as Hawkeye. I simply started my PC this morning, and BF2.exe was damaged for absolutely no reason, so I replaced it with someone elses, but then bf2audio.dll wasn't found on launch. I replaced that aswell now on launch there is the splash screen, but then it goes black and then back to the desktop after a few seconds.
Running on Win7-64 but I have no idea what this problem is.

If vBF2 doesn't work, how could you expect PR to work since it needs vBF2 to work properly.svsguitarlab wrote:same here. been battling for 2 weeks. I just wanna play PR, i dont even care if battlefield doesnt work, just make pr work...

Re: [0957] Error BF2Audio.dll Module
Sorry for bringing up the dead, but I am having this exact problem, I have tried all of the potential solutions in this thread but nothing has worked. I get the message, press ok, see a black screen or two then end up at my desktop.
