ATI XFX Radeon HD 5770 Issues

Post by Tonnie »

So basicly my problem is that my GPU doesnt show anything at all (nothing but black however you can hear the PC running like normal) when its pluged into my motherboard.

Steps I toke to fix issue:

Replaced the ATI XFX Radeon HD 5770 with a old video card from my old pc and picture comes up fine no problems at all. How ever I put my ATI XFX Radeon HD 5770 into my old PC and it works without a issue,

Also tried taking the HDD out of the new PC put it in my old PC and installed the ATI XFX Radeon HD 5770 drivers on the HDD and put it back into the new pc still doesnt show anything.

My specs
GPU: ATI XFX Radeon HD 5770
Motherboard: asus p5kpl-cm
everything else: unsure cant see :P

Doesnt make sense let me know so i can clarify

HangMan: BF2 Editor, it has very strict limitations memory wise, and crashes all the time. Its like a girl. Treat it with respect and take it slow and you'll get places. Rush and get ahead of yourself and it will turn around and punch you in the mouth

Maybe a problem with your power supply or the powercable to your graphic adapter? How many watts does your psu provide? Maybe there is not enough power for the new graphic adapter at all or on the lane to the graphic adapter.

no way to be sure but yeah it sounds like it might be a Power supply problem (not enough to properly run that card)

Not a 100% answer but a good guess.

like others said it might be a psu problem. you need at least 450w for the 5770.
