theres a trick of making sure bf2 doesn't use the outdated openal that gets installed with the game (BF2OpenAL.DLL)? Copy wrap_oal.dll from the syswow64 folder to the bf2 installation folder & rename it to BF2OpenAL.DLL. ive been playing for a few hours now and not a single bsod.... been searching forever for a solution and finally found one ! YES 5.1!!!!!!!!!!!

PS: im not sure if xram needs to be disabled in registry or not anymore. im sure that this will work for more than just my soundcard. It makes a huge difference sound quality wise.
Where you found the fix ? Doest Punkbuster kick / Ban you?

Test it more then a few hours , somestimes i can play 6 hours withouts BSOD sometimes one map cycle.

Ok got infos. Google was my friend. this was a fix for some crashes with the BF2 1.41 and pervoius version.

It DID NOT fix our BSOD Problem, cause in 1.5 theres already an updated OpenAl.dll -)

i have yet to bsod since replaceing the openal. i think there are more than 1 type of bsod going on.
1. bsod when people are loading maps ( never happened to me anyways)
2. random bsod ingame. ( the one i had.)

do you have xram disabled in registry mr.face?

Guys, we might be on something here. I posted in the PAX forums:

Click here to visit PAX Forums

and he replied:
New driver release out now PAX PCI XFI V4.00 no more BSOD
Download here:
He says:
Fix BSOD ha20x2k.sys ctexfifx.sys You should have no more blue screen of death. I put alot testing into the drivers make them prefect enjoy them.
I am downloading at the moment, I am more than exited to see what will happen. I usually BSOD after three rounds...

Feel free to try it out guys and feel free to visit this guy's forums. His english is weird but he is a really cool dude keeping up the creative drivers at their top notch...

PROPER INSTALLING:
Computer/Device Manager/Uninstall creative soundcard
use DriverSweeper do clean out any creative driver rests.
Reboot.
Install his stuff.
Reboot.
Install PAX Master Suite

Wow, sounds awesome.
Is this something like a custom driver or an original modified one? And does it include every features the one from creative has?

PAX drivers are modified creative drivers already out there for 5 years providing better performance and better sound clarity.

All creative feautures? Of course it does.

You need the pax suite though I think... I am not having the console avaible atm (which is the only relevant thing for Win7 x64). Need to check for his suite, will update original post.

Pax master suite v2.0 is what we need. Looking for it right now.

Here we go:
PAX MAster suite download, install AFTER DRIVER INSTALL!!!

Yep mate, install drivers, then install suite, there you have it. Robert would never leave an essential tool out such as the console launcher! :D

why is is there stated everywhere that XRAM is the problem? My Xfigamer has no Xram and the BSOD, other users experienced this too.
