So, Ive been playing bf2 for about 4 years and PR for 3 years, and Never have I had an issue until now.
Last night, i finished a game on basrah, closed PR and shutdown my PC like i do everyday. Nothing has changed,
Today, I cant even load ANYTHING without an Instant CTD.
I open PR, get menus as normal, but the moment i dbl click any server, or even create my own server, I get instant CTD.
I havent updated, installed, or used anything since playing PR working before.
So, Ive done a full reinstall, by the book.
Still the same issue.
Jeez, i hope someone can help becuause im about to punch my screen. Ive spent best part of a whole day trying to fix this issue.
AGGH!

FIXED!
So after hours of reading through forum posts, and trying possibly about 50 different things i noticed i couldnt access the sound menu ingame without a CTD. I have finally found out the issue and I hope this post will come in handy to people in the future.
So, recently, as a BF2 mapper, i have been editing my ambient sounds using 'PMC'. After reading a working fix from here... ForumPlanet - Topic - BF2 Crashes to desktop
It looks as though 'Tunebite' also causes the issues.
this uses a third party sound driver. This is used to encode legal MP3 and OGG format sounds.
I had to completly remove and disable the Driver for it to work.
Now i can load a map just as good as before
