Anti-Aliasing - Nvidia Card
I am having trouble forcing anti-aliasing greater than the default 8x in BF2. Unfortunately nHancer is no longer supported in the new drivers (only program that worked).
I am having no luck forcing AA using Nvidia Control Panel and Nvidia Inspector.
Do you guys have settings to effectively force AA in BF2?

afaik at least for ATI cards you cant force bf2 AA. Noticed it with me some time ago, when I tried to force AA with my CCC, there was no AA. then i set it on "application controlled" and used the 8x AA of bf2

8x AA is plenty for me anyways.

I saw it, but it does not apply to Nvidia GPUs.Redamare wrote:i think there is already an anti aliasing thread open . . . look down the list a bit i think it was up a few days ago
Unfortunately 8x AA is not enough for me

Incorrect, I can force AA with CCC perfectly fine, maybe you should try a different driver version.Zoddom wrote:afaik at least for ATI cards you cant force bf2 AA. To OP, the other AA thread applies to all GPUs. I'm not really sure how to fix your issue, maybe if your on Vista/7 make sure the driver is running as admin, don't know if that matters though, sorry.

i used inspector and it worked. alternativly you can go back to the drivers that nhancer worked on.Z Naught wrote:I am having trouble forcing anti-aliasing greater than the default 8x in BF2. Unfortunately nHancer is no longer supported in the new drivers (only program that worked).

The performance gain with the newer drivers in other games makes it not worth it.illidur wrote:i used inspector and it worked. alternativly you can go back to the drivers that nhancer worked on.
What are your inspector settings for BF2?

Re: Anti-Aliasing - Nvidia Card
i would tell you but i have a 5870 now... so all that is gone. be lucky you atleast have the option.... just mess with it a little. i may have found a compatability bit to get it to work back then .... i know that i had it working and my gpu couldn't handle supersampling lol.Z Naught wrote:The performance gain with the newer drivers in other games makes it not worth it.

ATI cards can't force aa in bf2 afaik. but i keep hearing ppl say that turning off catalyst ai will let you force aa settings no matter what. supposedly it still wont work in bf2 but i haven't tried it myself. so im s.o.l i guess.

I have nVidia and I tried forcing AA to no avail. Honestly I am content with the 8x though.
On another note, the game runs better with AA all the way up (at least with some nVidia cards).

This for both points. I've tried fooling around with AA on my graphics card and it didn't work. And instead of averaging around 27 or 28 fps with no AA, i'm now pushing round about 60 odd to 90 on mostly high graphics and i'm still trying to push it as far as it will go, even on 6x! It's unbelievable Jeff!RELEASE_THE_KRAKEN wrote:I have nVidia and I tried forcing AA to no avail. Honestly I am content with the 8x though.
