Hello, as you probably noticed im new. Ive always been around the BF games and realism so i always hang around. But now, since i have photoshop, i want to get into modding (skinning). Ive posted here, since i didnt know where else to post on the forums, and also you guys seen good at what you do. I thought you guys can help. I dont have a huge amount of knowledge of modding so dont flame be please. Can you guys just give he suggestions on what to start with, what should i get (like brushes) and if anyone can explain what images I would use in photoshop to color (like see i know i wouldnt color this http://www.totalbf2.com/images.php?img= ... pr-sfw.jpg in photoshop). All help is appreciated. Thanks.

There are some really good tutorials on the web which will guide you through the basics of photoshop. You should try one of the 1600 tutorials of http://www.tutorialized.com/.

Well it's always good to see new people stoping by, hope you stick around as said before, now im not any skinner expert, so i cant help you any there, but yes, I would suggest finding an online tutorial.

with skinning in photoshop, its all 2d. when you skin an object does the 3d modeler take it apart (is that unwrapping?) so you can skin all dimensions then puts it back together (rewraping?)? can someone help me out with this?

(sorry im a noob) so your basicly taking it apart? i dont have max, how do you do it? i want to skin!

I think i get it now. You take the unwrapped image http://img41.echo.cx/img41/9250/famas9zd.jpg . then you color that. When your done you send it back and he rewraps it?

It doesn't need to be "rewrapped" after, as the model already understands which coordinates of the "map" (2d image) are suppose to go where on the model.
