Not so bad but i have a powerfull computer... Distance view seems to be the trouble since project reality change it.
i dont think its just ecause of the view distance, because on maps like korengal its not that big.
yesterday, i OCed my cpu to 3,4GHz and installed 4 more Gb of ram, so now ive got 8 Gb.
PR doesnt use more than 2,1GHz and 2Gb ram. i dont know about the gpu (HD5830) but i guess its pretty in idle.
its an issue of the engine itself i think.

Sounds like a power saving function is enabled in the BIOS. I forget which one specifically you turn off ATM.

If you turn off the power saving option for your CPU it will always run at the stock speed and it wont underclock.

Afaik most cpu's will only lower the multiplier when the cpu is idle and once the cpu is being used over some threshold it pumps up the multiplier to the original. Lowering multiplier when cpu is not used saves energy.

i had 100 fps at 0.85 version with an old computer just before the view distance was changed. Now i have to use an outstanding computer to get the same performance. I think it s not the question about how map is big but how map is full of things WITH the view distance. If u see at 200 meters with 100 building it s harder to calculate than 100 meters and 50 building ... logical. Just see how work Qwai now and Qwai before... :p

its "cool 'n' quiet", but i dont think it would improve my performance, and i wont turn it off either, cause then 1. my cpu will overheat, 2. my cooler will always run on 2700rpm and 3. it wastes to much energy

Stock CPU coolers are generally sufficient to keep CPUs from overheating... you may wish to check if you've seated your's correctly or if the HSF is caked in dust.

Depending on fan size, that isn't really that fast... Stock intel/AMD fans easily break 3500rpm afaik

Torture testing 125W CPUs is the rough equivalent of 2x60watt bulbs, so turn two of them off while playing ;) [unless like a true greenie you have all energy savers, in which case it'd be every light in your house to even it out]

yamalia = 34fps zoomed into the grass on max settings, up to ~120 on most maps.

Try defragging.
Anyway this is getting a bit too out of hand if ppl need SB@5Ghz to run this game on full graphics at a constant high fps :)

Well i am not asking to even run the game at constant high fps, just that the maps where fps drops to under 20 if looking to certain direction would be somehow fixed when running the game with a decent 2-3 year old rig.

Same thing here.
PR ran fine until version 0.9 was released.
Before I ran everything on high, now on low and still there is a lot of stuttering that makes this mod unplayable.
A lot of people have this issue with several maps, even with very powerful pc's.
Don't blame the engine, your cpu or gpu, it's the coding of the latest PR releases that is not done correctly.
Hopefully the devs will solve this issue in the next release.

Indeed, but if the previous versions ran fine (until V 0.9) for almost everyone, then the devs must be able to fix it. Otherwise we will need a more powerful pc to run BF2 :P R then the upcoming PR mod for Arma2.....

I just started playing a week ago so idk how 0.8 ran :(

Anyway, cos my fps is quite steady and good in some maps, i would say that perhaps it is a map optimization + engine problem.

I get the feeling that it is like in Source engine, where the engine renders everything in the viewdistance radius, even though u cant physically see all that stuff but the engine doesnt know that if the map isnt tweaked and optimized.
