PC PhoneBook Software.

Post by Mad-Mike »

Hi,
Im looking for a software that I can use to store all phone numbers and names to my pc.
If it has address and emails that would be better aswell.

But it needs to be easy to use as its for someone that hardly uses a pc, its for a buisness.

Thanks in advice :D

ps, Excel is my last option.

I can't imagine Windows wouldn't come with software for that. I don't know exactly what would, but did you try Outlook?

I think if you have a Windows 7 phone you can transfer stuff like that to your PC, I know the stores do it to transfer your contacts, maybe ask them?

I am not sure if you really are trying to import the data from a phone but if so: Check the softwares by the phone's manufacturer. Usually they provide some kind of tool to sync with the PC.
Sharing or exporting might be a different story.

As for windows tools, I believe Outlook is able to store and share contact information like this it quite popular in companies with a majority of windows pcs. Most of the above mentioned tools will try to interface with it.

Maybe you should be more precise and give some details about the environment purpos and requirements of the tool.

Ok I should of made myself abit clear for what I wanted/meant.

Basicaly Every customer that becomes new to the company, I want to save the name, address, email, phone number and email etc... to the computer.

It needs to be software that isnt required to be online to update the name, number or to look up for future purposes etc...

The only thing I can think of myself at the minute is Microsoft Excel with a good template.

But a computer software will be much better.

Thanks for the help guys :)

Microsoft Access is the database program you are looking for.

You can store, update, modify, print, and link any bit of information you want.

...but it is not stupid proof out of the box. The database needs to be set up, then you can make it stupid proof.

There are templates to make it easier though (on 2007 anyway...)
Best line yet...

I spent a semester with Office 2007. The book we used had great walkthroughs to learn the ins and outs of the program. I can look up the ISBN if you are intererested..

This might be useful?
