[?] Helo Rocket angle
I'm in the process of coding angled hydra pod functionality for the helicopter gunships ingame. Of all the helicopters featured in game (including the light helicopters), which DO NOT have the capability to raise/lower the firing angle of their rocket weapons?
Thank you!
Thank you!

Re: Question: Helo Rocket angle
If I understand correctly you want to know out of all the helicopters in the game, which of their real life counter parts have the ability to raise and lower their Rocket angles?

Well i'm pretty sure the Cobra and Apache can do that
Its SO evil, it may actually encourage EA to support Modding again - Pantera

I was thinking it would work like the raise/lower in the Higgin's boats.Zeno wrote:something in the style of the grenadier sights?

On a uelicopter. Many ppl fly with keyboard it would be hard to have to press two keys to change angle. Better onpy press q and select. Maybe give it to gunner to promote teamwork. No gunner no angle change

Re: [?] Helo Rocket angle
The way I actually have it set up is two different hydra weapons; they're set to the same item index, which oddly results in them only toggling when you press the cycle weapons key, and every time you press it (regardless of what weapon/view you are in).
First mode is level firing (what it is currently) and will go for the crosshairs. When you switch out of this to sloped firing, you hear a long audio cue (same sound as vanilla smoke launchers reloading). Sloped firing angles down around 12-20 degrees depending on helicopter, usually with reference to the gunner trackbox on the bottom of the pilot's hud. When you switch out of this back to level firing, you hear a short audio cue (the normal weapon switch sound).
It's not a perfect switching system, but all it requires of the pilot is to periodically hit the '1' key to set the current active weapon to hydras/hellfires (hitting the numrow keys to select weapons doesn't toggle the rocket modes in their current state).

Also there is another way:
On apache we have linked camera and gun camera for co-pilot.
But on havoc we have system like turret on turret: you can move gun with camera separately from cockpit camera. Don't know how implement this for pilot, but it may be useful.

Why don't you add drop to the hydras while you're at it
