Will not load map past 0%

Hey guys,

I have had no problems running bf2 vanilla, Forgotten Hope 2, and AIX. However when I try to join a server or create a local server on PR it will not load the map past 0%. Sometimes it displays the message "Optimizing Shaders". I have let it sit for about 40 minutes once and it still did not load past 0%. I run high settings on all the other bf2 mods and I tried running pr on high, then I switched it to medium then low. I have tried running it in compatibility mode, and I do run pr as administrator. I have also tried disabling my antivirus protection, closing all background tasks, updating my graphics drives, disfragmenting my harddrives, and running the disk clean up all to no avail.

I have installed bf2, 1.41, 1.5 patch. Project reality (all three parts).

My specs are:
OS: Windows 7 64-bit; AMD Phenom II X4 910 Processor 2.6GHz
8GB DDR3 RAM

XFX ATI Radeon HD 4850:
1 teraFLOPS GPU computer power, 1GB GDDR3 Memory, 800 stream processing units, 256-bit memory interface Direct X 10.1, 24x custom filter anti-aliasing & high performance anisotropic filtering, ATI CrossFireX multi-GPU support, PCI Express 2.0, Dynamic geometry acceleration, Game physics processing capability


Any ideas?

all I can think of is for you to go to C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr and set compatibility and administrator for both pr.exe and tr.exe, I have less trouble since doing that and I've also moved to Win7

On Windows 7, you don't have to turn compatibility mode on, runs fine without it (amazingly). Perhaps try that, see if it helps anything? This goes for both BF2.exe and PR.exe. Keep running both executables as administrator.

I tried both of those ideas and they didn't work....this problem has got me so stumped ...

I had no problem until I installed webroot anti-virus software, my friend had the same issue.

What kinda AV do you have? and turning it off might not work, uninstall it, worst case scenario it doesnt work and you reinstall it.

I do use that, though Im on vacation right now so I will have to test it when I get home. I did try to disable it and that did not work but I will try to uninstall it.

I have this same issue, same spec pretty much, I actually found out that it is my Webroot AV that is not allowing the maps to load for some reason..I don't know why..putting it on Gaming Mode does nothing..so the other night I uninstalled Webroot, tried the game..worked great..map loaded in about 15 seconds or so and gameplay was great...reinstalled Webroot after I was done for the night..tried the game just incase with the AV installed again. Guess what? Didn't load the map..it stuck at 0%, went afk for about an hour, came back..was only at 3%.

Does anyone know how to shut down Webroot so that I don't have to uninstall it each time? Its gonna get rather annoying.

Note, you can't have AIX installed while PR is installed, im assuming the mod's conflict with each other in same way, messing them up so they're both unplayable till you uninstall one of them.

I know its my webroot..does anyone know how to turn off webroot entirely? as In close it out? Gamer mode doesn't work, not even when you check the box for "Turn Execution Shield off". I need information on how to shut it down without having to uninstall it each time..I've tried contacting webroot for answers..but they give me the same bogus answer each time "use gamer mode".
