Loads map then black screen

Hello,

I purchased bf2 using steam, and I have installed both bf2 and pr. The game loads up a map to 100%, but then in the verification step, the game crashes.

I run Win 7 64 bit. I have an nVidia GTX8800 video card. I have tried to force the resolution using the shortcut. I dont know what else to do. What could be the problem?

All my drivers are fully updated.

Have you installed all the patches(1.41 and 1.50)?

Yea. Its running v 1.5. I have both the CD version and the Steam version, and both fall to the same basic circumstances. Any suggestions?

Did you try try running regular BF2? Run in windowed mode to get an error message that you can google. (shortcut parameter: +fullscreen 0)
