Maybe. But if they follow your orders correctly they tend to follow your plan better, and in my experience, how bad the SL's plan may be, it normally works better if they follow your orders, which is lining up on the wall an example.dtacs wrote:That might have been a lucky event, but lining players up is not indicative of player skill.
It is indicative of squad members knowing how to follow orders. But what happens when the tactics that the SL employs are shit? Well, then the squad members obedience is pointless.

Re: Mission Preparation for the Squad Leader
I have seen the best squad leaders in PR use the wall technique, so it defiantly does work.
It is most convenient on a carrier at the start of the round, as you have to wait for a helicopter regardless and you create a cohesive and organized group to board the transport that the leader has arraigned for them, often having the helicopter moving to the squad rather than the other way around, a litmus test for the cooperation of both the squad members and the transport pilot.

What does it matter? A **** plan going off without a hitch is still a crappy plan.goguapsy wrote:Maybe. Why plan for the worst and hope for it to go well?

A problem I see is that using the "line up" thing will promote fear of a kick, making the squad mates obedient from fear of a kick, not because they feel they should be working as a cohesive unit. It's too easy to be overly harsh with the kick policy, which makes people intimidated of you.
