Must Run PR.exe instead of BF2.exe

Everytime I log in after start up it says the infamous Must run PR.exe blah blah blah. I changed the shorcut to match what it says.
Target: "C:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe"
Start in: "C:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 2\mods\pr"

I've even tried starting pr.exe straight from the folder as is to no prevail. I've tried Compatibility mode, and running in administrators privilege mode but still no results. I'm at wits end with this. I've never played PR before and I would love to give it a shot. So any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

PS, I have searched and all the searches i have found have no results that actually help me. I also looked at the vista FAQ's and the PR.exe troubleshooting threads.

Edit 5:20PM CST US: Walked through the FAQ's that others like to refer to that. Went down to the problem that i have been having tried all solutions listed on it. Still no successful fix found yet. Getting oh so frustrated at this mod...

please post the contents of your prError.log from within the PR folder, next to your pr.exe

Also:
Make sure that ".NET Framework 3.5" installed properly on your system.
(".NET Framework 4" or higher does not replace 3.5, you will need it still)

there is no error in the error log pertaining to this instance... the only ones in there after the re-install were of me not having the Battlefield 2 folder in my documents...

Edit 6:16PM CST: Downgraded .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 to 3.5 with no prevail... Still getting the same error that i must Run PR.EXE and to change my shortcut idk whats going on...

nothing? lol i can't figure out why it wont run on my comp either so i mean if it's a lost cause then i will understand that's the only rational explanation for it.
