Question to the Public.

Post by Tiger1 »

We are trying to make a list of the most popular Project Reality maps.

A so called top notch server map list.

My question to the public (that means you) is the following ;

What is your favourite map? And why?

After we've gotten a lot of replies to this thread we will look at the results and create a 'near perfect server map list'.

Yours respectfully,

SSG Andersson.

probably Kokan, because i love insurgency and this map is ideal for fast hit and run humvee attacks. Otherwise it would be fallujah west because i just love the setting in which you have to TAKE the city house by house(and its INS ofcourse hehe)

People are gonna hate this, but Kashan 32. In my humble opinion its the best combined arms map for PR.

I personally love Silent Eagle, first fo all its a 4km map yet it also has lots of small engagements, It is good for vehicles and transport chopper pilots (like me :p ) yet infantry can also enjoy it when fighting over the central village, Its also one of the few maps where lazing is actively used.

Yeah, I like Silent Eagle and Muttrah for flying helis :)

I also enjoy playing other maps such as Dragon Fly (As Brits), and Fallujah West (As a Civi :)

Good old Kashan Desert! There is nothing that can beat a good, open and honest combined arms map, though the inf layer isn't bad either. It's also one of the few maps left that low end computers can run with little performance issues.

Of course there are many brilliant maps but when it comes to choosing your all time favourite it's Kashan Desert for sure.

I am a HUGE fan of insurgency maps, specially Karbala (my fav :D ), Ramiel, Operation Archer, Fallujah West and Kokan. Any size, but normally 64 is pretty awesome, balanced (insurgency-wise) and fun!

For AAS, I'd probably go with Muttrah City. And I find Qwai pretty awesome (no tanks version though, I like the 32 I think, more balanced?)
Guys, when a new player comes, just answer his question and go on your merry way, instead of going berserk! It's THAT simple! :D

Asad Khal (AKA epic'er Helmand ) !

Depend on round but imo any can be nice if you play with a good squad and good team. (teamwork + mumble).

Don't know if it's only me but I feel there is too much "unbalanced" map. I know that's what we want, for realism, different gameplay but I like when the 2 factions got similar equipements. I still love to play insurgency and some "unbalanced" map but imo there is too much of them

sorry for my english :? ??:

Gaza - It is under played and usually very fun.

Operation Marlin - Was very fun and should be great.

Quinling - Combined arms and so a role for everyone.

British vs MEC over a city and some Oilfields? Can't remember the name of it...the new one thatrecently had an optimisation test. Lot's of good action.

Dragon Fly - Great tactical and strategic map.

Iron Ridge - Another great tactical and strategic map.

Iron Eagle - Under played and when I have played it I am never disappointed.

Fool's Road - Beautiful map, simple to SL on and great action whatever class you are.

Fallujah West - One of the maybe 2? maps that Iraqi Insurgents get (along with Ramiel) where the blufor only have very limited camping space available! Insurgency is usually a sad campfest of blufor vehicles and waiting the weekend to spot the blufor infantry in the city(exaggeration).

Beirut - Same reasons as most people like Muttrah however I actually enjoy this map and have not been sickened by how many times I've played it.

I actually had this idea before. People would rate maps through +2;+1;0;-1;-2 points to the official maplist (every layer too) and then the op would update each entry in the scoreboard.

The way it is now, is no different than multiple other "what is your fav map?" threads. You can get a "feeling" from this, not concrete data.

Arcturus Shielder that's a valid point.

Any replies from now on should be answered like so :

You give every map a number from the scale 1-10.
10 is your absolute favorite map(s). 1 being your least favorite one.
