[Help] problem with setting bf2 editor up for pr

Post by chubzy »

hi all, i have been having a problem with setting bf2 editor up for project reality, i followed the tutorial on the forum, but when i attempt to place anything on the map the editor crashes and asks if i want a report. im not sure if i have done something wrong during the set up, i have coppied the pr folder, renamed and unzipped all the files in there. when i place an object the editor will crash or the object just doesnt appear, although the movement cursor is there.

also, although not mapping or modding related, i have a small problem with the mortar, when i enter it, the sight nor the calculator work, i have read on here that it is a graphics card issue and that i need new drivers, but i have no idea how to work computers apart from playing games :) the card i am using is a radeon x600.

thanks in advance, im not sure i put this in the right place so sorry if its not :)

ahh, fixed the editor now, but am getting collision mesh problems with certain vehicles, causes a major fps drop when looking at them, even with minculldistance set very low.

the vehicle thing is pretty annoying, for a couple of vehicles like the Chinook you can fix it by copying the rotor col meshes to the files it saids it cant find them in, then renaming it to the parent vehicle folder name.

But for me, and I suspect others, the issue you have happens alot. The workaround is to just map the map, then come back to assets later.

When you do the assets rename your staticobjects.con, overgrowth folder etc etc to differnet names so they won't be loaded, then you have the power of all your avaliable RAM the editor can utilise to work on assets.
