I would very strongly disagree with you on that point. Lets look at some facts from the more recent versions of PR:Viper.Sw wrote:I have solely said that the focus on reality is not as existing as it used to.
- 4km maps are now the focus for future mapping projects, 1km are no longer accepted at all and 2km have to be of a very high standard to get into the mod. This allows for far more realistic environments etc.
- Progress has been made on implementing 128 player servers into the mod, with one such server active in a testing capacity most nights of the week. Along with 128 players being a possibility, further developments have allowed for the use of 8 man squads.
- The PR team have consistently and continuously brought in high quality, high accuracy models based on real life vehicles and weapons. Recent examples include the Kiowa Warrior, AAV, MTLB, BTR-80, PKM, Type-95 series and the AK series to name but a few.
- Deviation has been introduced and fine-tuned over several versions to produce a fairly accurate representation of accuracy.
- The spawn system has been refined so that players can no longer magically spawn on a pile of rucksacks endlessly, and player constructed assets like tank traps, foxholes, TOW launchers and even temporary bridges are more prolific than ever.
- Thermal imaging has been implemented on all relevant vehicles who use the system in real life.
- 3D scopes have been developed so when scoped it no longer looks like you're looking through a hole in a big black canvas.
- The medic system has progressively been made harsher, firstly with the introduction of resuscitation, epipens and the medic bag requiring you physically heal the player to allowing only one medic per squad.
I could go on, but I realise that would just waste more of my time.
Quite frankly if you want to help the mod improve by focusing on reality more then you've gone about it in the wrong way. Creating a video that demonstrates most of flaws of the Battlefield 2 engine does not in any way help to constructively criticise PR or make any suggestion for improvement.
All the Devs ever ask for is constructive criticism, and if you are prepared to offer it then you should be prepared to receive it also for your work.
