Nvidia GTX 570 woes

Post by strima »

I've recently upgraded to an Nvidia GTX 570 and am having nothing but problems.

Kernel driver often stop responding even when the system is idle.

I have reinstalled different drivers, checked my PSU outputs, 750w well above the recommended, tried overclocking, underclocking, hitting it with a hammer.

It seems to be quite a regular problem with the 570's after a bit of googling.

Anyone else having the same issues or know any cures.

I'm not far of going for an RMA however it would be good to get other opinions/ideas first.

I run a 570 without problems. What was your previous card? Do the other cases you found all have something in common besides the fact that its a 570?

I had the same problem mate. The weight of the videocard had damaged the PCI-E slot and therefor caused the strange crashes.

Motherboard was replaced, bios updated to latest and it's working perfectly fine now.

So perhaps try switching PCI-E slot?

Cheerios,

Cheers for the replies.

I've now requested an RMA, hopefully this should fix it.

RMA done and new card fitted, seems to be working better after a few teething problems.
