Smoke

Post by A.Filikov »

I think the smoke from the explosives in the game fades away too quick.

in real life, when a tank hits something there is a lot more smoke and the smoke remains for a while, it can actually conceal the target. (as far as I know from the real life footage around the internet, I haven't actually seen anything explode myself.:roll :)

So I think we could use a little bit more smoke. if possible ofcourse, something like this may have a negtive effect on the framerate.

What do you guys think?

I agree, but it would vary with rounds.
for example with the M1a1, MPAT and HEAT produce a decent explosion vs Sabot where the biggest explosion is the tank itself. In my experience with LDFSW's and MDFSW's the smoke clears quickly. It would only be with artillery and Aircraft ordinance where the dust and smoke lingers for a short period.

(slightly relevant story)
Doing enemy party for QCB training, i had a red and a green smoke thrown into my connex followed by "Merry christmas mutha****a " my swag was wrecked.

I agree, would love to see smoke remains a little longer.

I think a few people have reported tank shell smokes to be performance-decreasing?
Guys, when a new player comes, just answer his question and go on your merry way, instead of going berserk! It's THAT simple! :D
